Terrorist Hunt/Training Grounds Critical Feedback
Here's a support ticket I posted under feedback and got a mildly disappointing response, so I'm posting it here in hopes that it will get some attention from somebody who can use the information constructively. "Hi Ubisoft
I'm a longtime Terrorist Hunt player in Siege since before it was called "Training Grounds", and I started on Xbox One. I bought the game just a week or so ago for PC and I noticed the "Training Grounds" matchmaking has been really harsh. Attached is an example of wait times on hard, it can go well beyond two hours.
I'd like to propose some changes to this mode to breathe some life back into it- which clearly, it desperately needs.
-Changing the name. It seems there's a lot of confusion with new gamers having difficulty finding this mode as "Training Grounds", and in some ways it could be argued that the name could be off-putting to the more hardcore pve crowd. Technically it's not a training ground, it's cooperative. And a lot of pvp players argue that playing training ground isn't helpful for training for pvp, so that name is kind of redundant and misleading.
-Consolidation of some of the data centers somehow, maybe by allowing data centers to interact with other nearby data centers to combat the low player count on harder difficulties. Normal difficulty is the only playlist you can find matches in reliably, and this has lead to a sort of playlist-death when it comes to hard and realistic difficulties. Most people avoid these playlists because they know it's not going to ever find a game, and I'm starting to see why.
-Bringing back Outbreak mode permanently. This mode was a major fan-favorite for pve players, who have long felt disregarded and ignored by the developers. The time and effort put into it was impressive, and would be a shame to have this mode forever limited to modders and unofficial private servers.
-Restoring bomber terrorists, albeit with altered statistics. These terrorists are the heavy assault guys, and instilled a very distinct fear in players of the old Terrorist Hunt when a player would hear their notorious breathing. I would suggest making them less resistant to headshots, especially shotgun headshots, but generally retaining the same behavior as before. Especially in defense maps, where the bombers are armed with LMGs and storm your position with both armor and firepower.
-Allowing terrorists to plant nitro charges again, to allow a lot of operator anti-gadget perks to have functional usage in this mode, or randomly placing clusters on the map at start.
-Raising renown gain for coop-only players on victory, especially harder difficulties. I realize that grinding abuse was a serious problem, but the fact is, it's just something you're going to have to contend with. The mode is dying because of this fact, as many of the unlocks are simply too expensive for PvE players to ever hope to afford.
These are all the suggestions I can think of at the moment, but I think this mode has taken a heavy hit from the misleading feedback of louder pvp players who don't play it anyways. The PvE community is a quiet community, but we still very much exist, and we still very much enjoy the dynamic nature of this mode. We enjoy the storyline of Rainbow Six Siege, and combating the White Mask organization. So for the next seasons, I think some major attention should be applied to this mode. Not suggestions taken from the predominant PvP community, but from the PvE community. Because this mode is very much standalone, and there are two different crowds that play Siege."
Hopefully this gets through the channels somehow and the development team can actually use this information.
