    [Suggestion] Cap the researchpoints needed for items

    Hey,

    basicly my idea is to limit the amount of needed researchpoints. As i play around, I like to equip certain items to my ships. The problem is, if the ship sinks I have to create a new item. As for the ship this is not a problem at all but the item will be unavailable in the future for me due to the rising costs.

    I really like the idea of rising costs but there should be a limit like in the other researches. Even if the limit would be at 500k that would be fine for me, as I dont need to worry about "losing" certain items in my savegame forever. (without creating hundreds of thousands of scholars to increase the cap of my research points)

    Another option would be to add a mecanism to decrease the item cost. I currently have two ideas for this in mind:
    • 1. Add a research to decrease the item costs of all items by one. If there is a legendary item with the cost of 310k it would be one step back at 300k for example. Setting the costs for this research fixed at 250k would prevent to exploid it.
    • 2. If an item is over the cost of 250k, it will decrease by one step after a certain time like 1 hour.


    It would be really cool, if something like this would be added to the game as it would take my fear of losing items forever.

    Considering fact there is cap for the Great Discoveries at 250000 points, I think cap for Items is reasonable request. Even the same, 250000, mean we still need to fully supply 211 Sholar Residences, what is still realtivly large number.

    A cap would be nice indeed, 500k sounds very reasonable.

    Yup, I agree, similar issues with trader dice reroll, they did add reset detail cost for 5 min as long you don't used reroll dice on trader looking for item.
