So in my recent games, I discovered that some of the specialists you employ in the trade union replace your factories' inputs. This can be so useful! I got the Costume designer for fur coats, who enables you to replace cotton from the far New World with locally produced wool. I also obtained Chef Michel for canned food who replaces goulash by pigs. Both making production so much simpler to pull off.
So I was wondering: which input-replacing specialists did you especially appreciate?
Use the in game filter to find them all;
I think the combination to replace corn for plantains in the Tortilla maker with; Tlayolotl Savor, King of the Corn is very powerfully with a combo with the Arborist to make Tobacco for the New World.
Combine that with the Mole Master to have fish in stead of beef.
Which saves you a huge landmass in Tabaco farms and Beef farms, Fish Oil is a coastal building after all.
Also, use "Daring Scuba Diver" to get Fish Oil from Pearls, to have less vulgarity on your islands. (30% boost)
Put a Long Range Bottom Trawl in your Pearl Farm harbour master office to save workforce (-50%) and have more output (+40%).
Also put in Captain Moby, Old Dog of the Sea, to gain Tallow and Gold from your Pearl farms, and get 50% boost.
With the 120% boost, you will get a nice output of Fish Oil on your pearl farms.
Consider furthermore to have a trade union on the Pearl Farms with Feras (50% output -10% workforce) and printing press (+25% output -40% workforce) (you now have 0 workforce) and a ForkTuN8 Mk.3, (+35% output from Nate).
That the gives you another 110% output, or 230% output ... which results in lots of "free" Fish Oil.
Also use the Arborist in Coffee warms and never worry about Tabaco for Enbesa.
