I haven't been playing raider that much, I gave him a try this last month and got 4 reps on him. From this I noticed his weaknesses were having no real opener to a fight that isn't a light attack and having not enough stamina in fights due to his zone attacks being too expensive to use and too easy to interrupt. I'm not dev. but I think this would have been a better rework. Give raider reaping charge in guard mode (so basically a dodge heavy) that works as a heavy into chains. It would be feint able and be undodgeable (similar to warmonger). This would allow raider to have more of an opener against characters rather than a simple light or a heavy into a hyper armor chain. Next give raider's fury hyper armor. I know this would be very strong however in it's current state raider's fury is too costly for stamina to be a a simple unblockable, people more often than not simply interrupt the attack rather than risk getting hit by the 38 damage hit. The only change I agree with, is making the stamina reduction for zone attacks. Maybe changing it from 50 stam to 12, and 35 to 12 is a little too far. In my rework I would change the zone to 25 and the zone in chains to 20. In my opinion this would force raider out of a lightspam character and give him more options to engage his enemies with new entry moves into a fight and more menacing heavy attacks like the bloodthirsty Viking he is. I firmly believe adding a bash to every hero who needs a rework is wrong. I would also like to point out that raider is one of the only heroes who cannot option select with his zone attack. And thus is usually forced into a light playstyle of interrupting attacks which means most people go for lightspam when trying raider for the first time. The current rework in the test server seems to support lightspam and I fail to see how removing variable timed storming lights will make him stronger in the meta. I honestly doubt this will make it very far but maybe someone will like it.
I also think giving every hero a bash is like diminishing the personalities and playstyle of the characters, I would prefer bashes to be slightly less powerful.Originally Posted by Fallen.Cortex Go to original post
Also you could put your text in a way that paragraphes are spaced, so It wont look like a gigantic wall of text, it could be tiring to read.
Raider's neutral zone chains and his storming tap is properly unreactable and enhanced. Those properties combined with his zones now costing a heavies worth of stamina means Raider has a sufficient opener. Raider's problem on TG is not opening people. It's sustaining offense and lacking peel.
Storming tap is generally punished externally for trying to use it. But someone has to weigh the idea of him chaining into an armored hit and eating the damage for doing so. TG raider cannot do that anymore, so It's infinitely harder for him to accomplish trading in 1vx and xvx situations. They need to give raider some kind of peel if they actually expect him to exist as a comprable option to kensei, WL, and others like they expressed a desire for.
I don't understand why Raider zone being unusable to optionselects matters, optionselects will be removed. Raider has no problem with neutral pressure.
I think every problem he has (which Raime mentioned) could be solved by adding a new move: an undodgable, unfeintable 600ms top heavy which deals 15 damage, can be accessed with back+heavy input, starts chains, and works from neutral and during chains. Better parry punish, could be used as this missing peel tool Warlord has, but Raider does not.
I mean i'd rather they add an undodgable forward dodge attack for peel. Having your peel tool come from neutral is a nice benefit but isn't required for a peel tool to be good. Kensei's side chain lights are a pretty good example of that.Originally Posted by Goat_of_Vermund Go to original post
