Just delete Raider from the game

If you are going to RUIN what makes a character feel like itself, just delete them from the game.

Variable timing on his storming tap is intrinsic to the characters play.

Lower the stam cost to his zones but FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY dont change anything else about Raider. He was perfectly fine before today. He was a good character.

TG Raider feels like a clunky turd. If these changes go through as is ill never play him again. I better get the last 10 reps in from 60-70 before this dumb crap gets implemented

Storming tap was ONLY useful cuz you could play with the timing. Id usually land 2 quick ones [hard to react to] then delay the 3rd then on the 4th let the heavy fly [they usually eat it tryna block up].

Now, storming tap is 85% reactable. Its expected. The enhanced lights dont even matter cuz everyone just parries it.

Unreal. Does anyone even play the game or do you just steal free labor & reviews from passionate youtubers? Christ Almighty.

I dont have any reps on Orochi or Shinobi so I cant comment. Orochi seems cool off a cpl plays but i really have literally no clue how to play Shinobi lol so ill refrain from commenting on him.

Only thing ill say is no way should his ranged unblockable give a wallsplat. Too OP.

The variable timing on the 500ms storm tap didn't make it hard to react to. It was the jank arse animations that would cause him to twirl about that threw people. Because they removed variable timing he no longer has broken tap animations and thus it's far easier to react to the obvious animation that storm tap is. They made it 400ms and enhanced though so it's not actually a reactable attack. If you've got people parrying it you're probably over using it. Try soft feinting into GB instead.

I love Raider now. They buffed his top lights slightly, buffed the storming tap slightly, and buffed his zones slightly.

They also normalized his armor timing. It was the only thing that made him any kind of cheap and they fixed it, so kudos to them for that.

You are probably dead on in regards to the janky animation. He just feels stuck in the mud & slow which is weird cuz they made him faster.

Ill try him out more & Orochi still feels "cool" his new stuff is decent but all my friends that main Shinobi hate his rework.

All his mobility & ninja stuff is gone. Hes just like other chars he has to stay in pocket to fight; except Shinobi shouldnt be locked into the middle of a gang fight cuz he has no health or hyper armor.

The handful of ppl I played with today all disliked Shinobi immensly. He is also stuck in the mud they said like his mobility is shot in TG.

I mean we did spend a very long time with a variable input tap. That was one of the first changes they made IIRC. It could just need getting used to. I am definitely not saying this as a statement to raider's kit as a whole. I don't think they did enough to help him in higher end comp play.

I hated Shinobi before the rework. But now I actually like him. He still has the "elastic" feel that was emphasized in his showcase way back then. You do a lot of moving in and out. Things are a lot less janky in terms of what is confirmed when. And having the ranged heavy be a bash means you never have to worry about getting externally blocked and not being able to roll in. I honestly don't get how people could say his mobility is worse now compared to live.

Like if they enjoyed the sitting on the edge of the fight as a gameplay facet sure, I can see why they'ed be upset since that's gone now. Maybe they miss quad dodging? Pretty sure that's been gone for a long time now. I'm actually liking shinobi more than Orochi right now. Might even be my "main" Samurai hero over Aramusha if this version of him goes live mostly intact.

EDIT: Spose they could also be sad that they can't whiff attacks and backflip anymore.

I would have been a bit happier if they did some more for raider in chains and to start. Enhanced lights and hyper armor on his opener heavies just as other options. He still feels semi neutered from neutral to me. Im no raider main its just my first impressions is all.

About Shinobi, are you for real?

I find that so strange, but then again, I have never been a Shinobi main.

Personally, I've never liked Shinobi. I disliked him on release in Y1S2, and I still disliked him up until now.

I actually really enjoy fighting as AND against Shinobi. He has extreme potential and also has pitfalls. Risk vs reward.

When I didn't **** up, I was just tearing people apart with him. Against him, I quickly discovered counters and was able to expose him, but good players were covering those weaknesses with relative ease. Overall, he felt balanced (besides the GB and wall splat sickle rains) and fun to fight.

Is there a particular reason your friends who main Shinobi dislike the changes?

He definitely needs more for sure. You can argue that his single pick scenarios got a bit better with a few of the changes (including ones that weren't in the notes.) But the devs have stated they want him to be an option to pick next to the likes of Warlord and Kensei. Raider only has about a fraction of what makes those guys good team fighters. Raider's recoveries are still far too bad to really consider using his being sweeping attacks. His unblockable directly competes with zhanhu's which is also a team fighter but zhanhu's is a lot better because his recovery situation isn't ****. Raider lacks peel. Which is something all 3 of those heros have in spades.

In short, if the devs were only looking at raider to make him a better duelist they "some what" succeeded with the TG changes. But if they're seeking to make him a better 1vXer and better team fighter they didn't do anywhere near enough. The armor changes while "healthier" hurt raider a lot more than they are probably aware of and they didn't really do anything to compensate that.
