    Our base village

I thing we've already been shown where our base village is from the start of the game - and the bar where Guapo the crocodile can be found.

I think it's here. What do you reckon?

I read somewhere that the starting place of the game could be an islet seen on the map, where you probably survive the E3 encounter. It probably acts as the tutorial island, just like FC4 and Primal valleys, and FC5 island. It also seem to be correlated to the "you can start where you want at the beginning of the game" thing devs keep saying. We'll see i guess.

I don't recall who, but I remember someone saying they didn't think the map seemed very big, but given that that small island is that big and it is but a tiny fraction of the entire map, I don't think it seems like a small map at all.

Consider the size of Far Cry 5's Fall's End, which seems to be a comparable size to the village noted above.

If you ignore the oversize graphic to denote Fall's End, but just look at the area covered, then the two hamlets can be aligned in size, meaning that Far Cry 6's starter island is smaller than Holland Valley, but not much. Maybe 2-3x larger than the FC5 map.

I'm pretty sure Far Cry 4's map was bigger, but the FC6 island may match the Banapur starting valley, meaning that the FC6 map isn't hugely bigger, but maybe 30% more.

I discovered the game map through Hortys post and that makes me worried about the ocean part of it. Especially the distance between that island and the rest. If it s FC3 like, we'll get a few sunken ships and that s it. I bet 99% of FC3 players never saw a sea turtle, a manta ray or a moray eel. It was really poorly used. With so much ocean on the map, it better be more interesting.
