    Update 2.28.1 Very Disappointed :( [ dodge heavies and unpunishable fast bashes ]

    IMO, the recent update 2.28.1 is a bad update. A lot of old hero's got improved which is good but the constant push towards dodge attacks and fast bashes is honestly ruining this game. In short, there are too many characters with chain exit options i.e. if you want to get out of a chain just side heavy/light/bash very lazy and effective. The problem is that these moves are often not very punishable with exception to side lights, I think those are fine. The side heavies and side bashes are cancer, not very punishable and annoying to fight against. ffs Ubi at least make dodge heavies be gaud break vulnerable...

    On another note Gladiator was overturned. He has ridiculous infinite chains that can't be interrupted. also way too many starter moves and most of his bashes can't be punished of course . Hitokiri's kick range is stupid and the dodge heavy is completely unnecessary. Shugoki's bash is too fast for it to have damage and is also unpunishable .

    All the above being said I am a LB main and a lot of these changes destroy LB's gameplay so that definitely factors into my opinion.




    In case Ubi needs help understanding why dodge heavies are broken:

    dodge light -> light parry -> more damage
    dodge heavy -> heavy parry -> less damage
    *keep in mind both dodge attacks are redactable

    Jin Jung -> dodge heavy -> light attack -> wtf is this crap
    Tiandi -> dodge attack -> light//heavy/re-dodge -> no more gimmicks please




    Again the solution to all of this:
    - Make dodge heavies vulnerable to gaurd breaks
    - Or make all dodge heavies a light parry
    - Stop giving heroes ridiculous fast bashes in combination with damage or high stamina drain
    - Make more bashes actually punishable
    - Or just have bashes and side attacks waste significant stamina so they can't be spammed

    Wow I came up with some solutions in like 3 seconds. make it happen Ubi .




    I haven't played this game the longest so any other opinions are appreciated!

    I don't think side heavies are really that big of a problem to be honest. With maybe the exception of shaman. None of them come out insanely fast compared to berserker and shaman most notably. And nearly all side dodge heavies cannot be feinted. It would be silly to make side dodge heavies either a light parry on a slower and unfeintable attack. For honor is a game about reads and outplaying people. If you take 3 or more dodge heavies in a fight, they are probably gonna do more, and that's easy parry fodder. Conqs side dodge bash is kinda an outlier, but considering he's very much lacking in offensive capabilities, it's probably fine for the time being.

    Also side dodge heavies are vulnerable to guardbreak. Just not as vulnerable as you would like them. Watch freeze's video on gryphons side dodge heavy. Applies to almost all the other ones.

    Or simply react with another option that isn't gb. The only 2 dodge heavies that are meant to have additional gb vulnerability are jj and tiandi, as they give more dodge frames and can be feinted

    For LB? Like what, you only got one light in a chain. Only thing that you can do is bait, but in higher level gameplay it's hard to get baits. So when you feint, then you get screwed by whatever fast bash light opener the enemy has.

    Baits need to be more punishing. That's my point.

    Right now you have lots of option selects. Makes lb a lot better than he should be. Though I feel like he will need a small buff after option selects are gone.

    P.s. it's semi ironic that you main the character that is the best at punishing dodge heavies, while also complaining about dodge heavies.
