Look, we all get it.
New weapons cost money to make in the game of Siege.
They can sometimes be unbalanced (ELA's Scorpion is a prime example).
But players want more guns added to the game. Sure, you can say that you are running out of ideas for modern firearms that could be used by Team Rainbow. But I propose that all Operators that have recycled weapons at LEAST be given the same treatment as LION, FINKA, KALI, and ZERO
A new unique gun for that Operator... at least until another Operator makes use of that unique gun.
I propose the following Operators receive the following firearms, both because they fit the Operator's style of design and would help their kit a bit. I am not saying that we should remove guns from their loadouts, just merely add a new gun so that they all bring something new to the gunplay part of the sandbox.
Below are my suggestions on what we could add to the Operators who possess recycled weapons -
NØKK
Receives the Magpul PDR-C.
A compact PDW that can take M4 Magazines AND it can be utilized one-handed with relative ease, so it wouldn't interfere with her Utility Animations.
WARDEN
Receives the EVO-B.
A Scorpion EVO-3 A1 equipped in a Manticore Arms Scorpion Bullpup Kit. This would allow for WARDEN to have another compact SMG, but one with the stats of ELA's Scorpion. HOWEVER, it is equipped with standard magazines rather than extended and it has some slightly better recoil control.
AMARU
Receives the MP5/10.
An MP5 chambered in 10mm rather than 9mm. This results in a slightly smaller magazine size, more damage-per-bullet, the same fire-rate, but recoil that is more difficult to control when compared to the regular MP5s in the game.
GOYO
Receives the MTs-255.
It is a Ukrainian Hunting Shotgun, a revolver that holds 5 shells, and it is loaded with Buckshot shells. This would allow GOYO to have a close-quarters dominating weapon, but have a lengthy reload since he has to load 1-shell at a time.
KALI
Doesn't receive any new guns. She has her CSRX-300 already.
WAMAI
Receives the MS MAUL.
A semi-auto shotgun that would greatly fit the motifs of NightHaven being a PMC of advanced tech, since the shotgun itself has a unique form of ammunition and reloading as you have to quite literally CHANGE the barrel to reload it. It is loaded with 5-shells that are pre-chambered and fire in succession after one another. Pretty advanced and strange tech.
IANA
Receives the M4 CQR.
A sci-fi M4 model that is actually an Airsoft Gun (That hasn't stopped Ubi before. ZOFIA's LMG is an Airsoft Gun after all). Compact, with modular stock and foregrip, this would be a nice weapon for IANA to possess, and would have to find some sort of balance between her G36c and her ARX-200.
ORYX
Receives the CBJ-MS.
A compact PDW that has some visual relations to a MAC-10. Its rustic design and cheap-yet-efficient demeanor would fit ORYX's aesthetic design. It would have more recoil but more damage-per-bullet than his T-5 SMG, but by a margin.
ACE
Receives the Patriot Ordnance PSG.
A compact SMG that has an advanced design look to it. Having a higher fire rate than his AK-12, but less damage-per-bullet than the AK-12. However, it would also have the benefit of a faster reload and mobility due to it's weight.
MELUSI
Receives the Beretta M93r.
A three-round burst Machine Pistol from the cold-war era. After the proxy wars hosted by the US and Russia, these weapons would be probably abundant and beloved by soldiers across Africa; making it a nice weapon to have in requisitions.
ZERO
Receives the P90.
I know I said that KALI doesn't receive any new guns, but that is because her Primary is also her Unique Utility and she has both secondary slots filled. HOWEVER, Sam Fisher should receive the P90 as another recycled weapon for a few reasons. First, it is a compact PDW and it shares the same ammunition as the 5.7 USG, which is Sam's favorite pistol. Second, Ubisoft Connect has an unlockable Splinter Cell Blacklist skin for the weapon, so it OBVIOUSLY should go to Sam's kit as well.
ARUNI
Receives the Ronin .45c.
Another airsoft gun, the KWA Airsoft Ronin TK.45c AEG 2.5 is a gun that has an advanced-tech visual appeal that would match up well with NightHaven's design. Not to mention the fact that it would be an alternative SMG choice to the P10 RONI. You see, it would have a larger magazine and bullets that strike harder. However it would have more recoil to control, a slightly longer reload, and a lower fire-rate than the P10 RONI. Comparable to the UMP45.
FLORES
Receives the FMK-3.
An Argentinian sub-machine gun that was inspired by the Uzi. Given that FLORES is a thief from Argentina, this SMG could have some sentimental value as one of his first weapons he used in a heist when things got dicy.
THUNDERBIRD
Receives the M1887-L.
The Model 1887 Lever-Action Shotgun is something to behold and it should have similar stats to a Pump-Action shotgun. What makes this gun a nice pick for her is the fact that it is compact, making it ideal for a helicopter crew to use when landing and having to deal with bears. It also has the unique feature of being a 5+2 rather than 5+1 shotgun, since you can have a shell in the chamber, a shell in the action, and 5 shells in the under-barrel tube. And THUNDERBIRD knows this trick, so if she is given the chance to do a long reload, she can certainly turn this into an extra surprise shotgun shell to load and blast with. Plus we could say in the backstory that it was a gift from her uncle or something of sentimental value.
There you have it, my recommendations for new guns that could be added to all the Operators that utilize recycled weapons. It would be cool if we could get these in future updates and if every operator after Ubi decides to do this would receive at least 1 unique firearm and the rest of their kit be recycled from the gun locker.
Thoughts anyone?
First of all mad respect for putting in the effort in coming up with so many new guns for the new ops. I too would love if they gave each new op 1 new gun and thats not too much asked for on ubis part.
That said I have some stuff to add:
1. Shotguns overall are pretty garbage in Siege rn and I think unless its a really powerful and unique Shotgun the new weapon should be of a diffrent weapon class since it wouldnt see any playtime otherwise which would be a waste.
2. Noone in Siege uses burstfire and I dont think a weapon which is exlcusively designed for this fire mode would change that even if it could achieve above average dps.
3. The damage of the mp5 10 would need to be absurd to have any chance of rivalling the G8 on Amaru. I would give her a new AR instead.
4. Some of the weapons I would like to see in the future are:
PP-Bison: Pretty unique 9mm Smg with its Helixmags which has a pretty low firerate of 700 but makes up for that with its 64 round mag and controllability. Known from Csgo or Pubg and funnily enough a modell of this can be found in armoury on Clubhouse.
SIG MCX: Pretty much the MPX as an Ar with lower firerate but chambered for 5.56. Doesnt see too much use irl but it looks cool and would fit into Siege imo.
C TAR-21: Pretty much the special forces variant of the Tavor AR which has a high firerate but would have high recoil and no grip options in game.
Good points you got there. The MP5/10 would be something that does do plenty of good damage. If you compare it's damage to the MP5 in Siege, I could see this gun doing something like +7 damage per bullet, while still retaining the same fire rate.
Fun-Fact, Ubisoft had actually cut some weapons from Siege during its development, one of which was the PP-19 Bizon. The others were the AK-47, RPG-7, and an LMG in the form of the M60E4 MK43.
Do they, though? Weapon modelers are full-time employees of Ubisoft, I'm not sure how having these people do their job would cost more money than what they already get with their paychecks.Originally Posted by RamboBambiBambo Go to original post
Okay, let's respond to your list item by item:
NØKK: Jesus Christ NO, just stop trying to have her receive an assault rifle, that'd make her wayyy too OP, she can already be so damn frustrating to play against as is. I mean come on, quiet AND with a top-tier weapon? Gimme a break. She can have the MP5-SD, that would fit her just great, but not an AR, You can bet she was tested with various weapons before being released back in the day, and there's a reason they gave her an SMG. Also, the PDR is a prototype weapon. I'm absolutely against having prototype weapons in the game. I've always thought it flat-out sucked a$$ to have Finka (and now Thunderbird) carry a rifle that never even reached the working prototype phase. Same with Lion and his preposterous Vector-based LMG. Ugh.
WARDEN: I've said it before, he should absolutely get the 416-C as a stand-in for the Mk.18 and KAC PDW that the real-life Secret Service use (and/or the P90, which they also use). Because let's just face it: while Nokk was okay at release, Warden has always been underwhelming and should get some much-needed love.
AMARU: Mike said it best: the MP5/10 would need to have some serious stats to be a good choice compared to the G8... unless it replaced the G8; when you think it through, it's a super-cumbersome weapon for a character designed around agility and speed. Amaru has no business fielding and LMG, really. So why not, good idea.
GOYO: Huh? He's already got a shotgun, one that has been seriously nerfed and is now completely overshadowed by the Vector, so why would you want him to have another? As Mike said, shotgun are really hard to get results with in this game (which is also preposterous. They're usually the best option for close combat IRL).
KALI: Yes. F*ck Kali anyway. Cringe character. Hope she doesn't show her ugly face in Extraction.
WAMAI: Never heard of that gun before, but it seems wildly impractical. I'll pass, thanks.
IANA: What? She already has two quite good gun options. Why would Iana need anything else?
ORYX: Never heard of that gun either. Are you making these up? His loadout is fine as is anyway.
ACE: Yeah, except his AK-12 already has a pretty strong firerate as is. It's usually ranked among one of the best guns in the game. So while I agree that Ace, just like Thermite, need to have another option than just their assault rifle (strictly nobody runs the M1014 with them), I'd be much more inclined to give Ace a DMR like the G28 and to give Thermite the R4-C. Y'know, "standard-issue FBI SWAT assault rifle", after all.
MELUSI: Are you suggesting she should get a pistol as a primary? Using your reasoning, I think she should get an AKSU-74.
ZERO: Sam Fisher should get either the 416-C or the R4-C. He had access to the short-lived M468 (RIP my love) back in Conviction and to the HK 416, POF 416 and AAC/Q Honey Badger in Blacklist. Plus he's a former Navy SEAL who was probably issued a Colt 653 or 727 (and later an M4A1) during his service, so he has a strong connection to AR derivatives.
ARUNI: She's already quite the annoyance with her gadget, so like Nokk I think she shouldn't be too strong on the firepower side of things. Plus I'm very much against the idea of airsoft crap getting into Siege (yes, I'm very much aware of the Zofia example, and I think it sucks).
FLORES: Interesting idea but I think an SMG would be too weak for him.
THUNDERBIRD: Very interesting and cool idea.
As for what Mike proposes: it's pretty dumbfounding that they didn't feature the Bison for Sptetznaz operators at release. The MCX would also be a great choice but as you said, no one has adopted it so far... but why not, really. Apparently it's a great rifle. Same with the CTAR which is widely thought to be one of the best, if not the best bullpup of this era.
In response to STS.Bishop
The PDR-C sure didn't reach past the prototype phase, but Ubi has shown that they would allow fictional weapons or weapons that didn't get adopted and have fallen to the wayside.
-- FMG-9 is another Magpul item that didn't reach full market funding and such until 2020 with semi-auto pistol models expected to be on the market this year. So no it will not be an SMG, but rather a pistol.
-- AK-12 wasn't adopted by the Russian Army, but is a weapon you could still purchase. But the Spetsnaz aren't using this IRL unless someone specificually requests it in requisitions AND it gets approved by their superiors.
-- The LMG-E isn't even a real life LMG... it is an airsoft gun that Ubi said "looks cool, lets make it and give it to ZOFIA."
-- Yes LION's gun is entirely fiction, even chambered in a .308 round that doesn't exist and FINKA's Spear.308 was a prototype made by a Russian design student named Andrei Ovsyannikov. It was a proof of concept that he was a designer that others would be able to hire. Essentially a resume in the form of "I can make this and whatever else you give me."
But the PDR-C can be a weapon that has a higher damage yet lower fire-rate compared to the FMG-9 and equipped with 20 round magazines, making it a weapon that could arguably be equal to the FMG-9.

I like your choice for WARDEN getting the KAC PDW. Nice choice.
--- --- --- --- --- ---
The MP5/10 wouldn't replace her G8 buuut since it is smaller, her ADS speed and mobility will not be so hindered by it; making it a better choice for players seeking to have a ranged weapon option with AMARU but not be so sluggish on the draw.
--- --- --- --- --- ---
GOYO's current shotgun is essentially a DMR, being loaded with Slug-Rounds. Sure the Vector .45 ACP is a good weapon, but it is more mid-range than CQC, which is where the MTs-255 would come in being buckshot loaded.
--- --- --- --- --- ---
The MS MAUL... here is a video on what exactly that shotgun is (vid is from CoD Ghosts which featured the gun) and yes I believe it would be a nice fit for WAMAI.

--- --- --- --- --- ---
The reason I say that IANA would receive the M4 CQR is two fold - it looks sci-fi AND it would be arguably a nice weapon to have as another AR option. Plus, fun fact; Ubi had toyed with the idea of adding it to Siege for NOKK to use... hence why she has M4 mags on her plate-carrier. So it is essentially another cut weapon.

Video of the CBJ-MS and other Swedish weapons... skip to 3:46 for the part of the vid about the CBJ-MS.

I actually agree that ACE should have a DMR option. Originally I had thought that the B&T APC.308 would be a nice weapon, but instead I opted for the PSG.
--- --- --- --- --- ---
No, I am saying that the Beretta M93r would be another secondary weapon option. The M93r is a burst-pistol in real life, and with how machine pistols are in Siege, this would be most effective whenever you aim at the enemy's heart as a single burst would likely shred thru their chest, neck, and head if done in the right circumstances.
--- --- --- --- --- ---
I already said my reasons that ZERO should get the P90... it is compact, a literal "older sibling" to his favorite pistol, and it has a Splinter Cell skin.
--- --- --- --- --- ---
I disagree with your "airsoft crap" notion, as some airsoft guns that aren't based on real weapons look like they actually are real weapons. Take a look at the GHK-G5 for example.
--- --- --- --- --- ---
I chose the FMK-3 to be a compact weapon and for it's Argentinian design. Besides, just because it is an SMG doesn't mean that they can't balance it to be a slapper of a gun.
--- --- --- --- --- ---
We sync on THUNDERBIRD it seems.
And yes, the PP-19 Bizon is something we all want. It was in the Alpha of the game, but was scrapped from the main game because originally SMGs were a Defender exclusive item and having an SMG with 53 bullets was obscene... until MAESTRO came around with his LMG that is.
I agree that it should be in the game, but possibly on an Attacker rather than a Defender... which is what I did for my fan-made Operator I call SAPPER.
Yeah and as I've mentioned, I am wholly against putting prototypes in the game. It's just begging for the game being outdated when said prototypes are abandoned and radically modified. Goes without saying that my opinion applies to the FMG-9 (though at least they're finally making it), PDR-C, Saritch/Spear .308 (which is also ugly) and all the other non-existing guns.Originally Posted by RamboBambiBambo Go to original post
The airsoft-derived ones are even more cringe-inducing to me. I mean what the hell? This is a Tom Clancy Game, aren't there enough guns on this planet to prevent them from having to cobble ugly-looking ones from uninspired airsoft models? Especially since there are many cool guns, both common and uncommon, that aren't featured in Siege as of this writing: the Tavor (and its derivatives), the ACR, the SCAR-L, the CZ 805 BREN, the Honey Badger, heck even the AR-18 would be a cool choice. So I stand by my initial point, there are no reasons for using airsoft stuff in this game. Plus, your GHK-G5 looks uncomfortably like a Tavor X95 to me.
1) contrary to what you think, the AK-12 has been adopted by Russian Forces in 2018, just not the version based on the AK-200 prototype (which is the one featured in the game).Originally Posted by RamboBambiBambo Go to original post
2) Iana already has 2 ARs, why should she get a third? She's already a stupid character anyway, with a background totally unfit for a frontline soldier worthy of Rainbow. But since you reference Nokk having the Hera AR-15 in an old rendering... just know that for a time, during development, Blackbeard had the R4-C. Though I personally wish he actually had it in the game, it just goes to show you that yeah, Ubisoft tries some weapons for some operators, and sometimes it just doesn't stick (in both BB and Nokk's case, they would've been too powerful).
3) The CBJ-MS... why bother? It already looks a lot like the machine pistols present in the game (SMG-11 and -12, namely).
4) Yes but there's no lineage there. I've always found it weird that they chose the P90 for the SC: Blacklist skin even though that gun has never, to my knowledge, been featured in a Splinter Cell game. Unlike the AR15 derivatives that I've mentioned in my previous message, that Sam actually has had access to.
5) Sure, they've already done a decent job with the PDW-9 for Jackal. But it has a huge mag to compensate its weak stopping power. They've already proven by their attitude that they believe attackers should have an assault rifle (except Nokk, and again, I agree with them)
Why is she cringe operator ? Just curious.Originally Posted by STS.Bishop Go to original post
I never got why they added a second sniper (with a bolt-action rifle, to boot) in a game that is extremely CQC-oriented. It's not as if the first sniper in the game had (has?) already a hard time finding his niche... Moreover, I profoundly dislike when they create "new" operators that are retreads of existing one, such as Ace, who tend to make the older ones obsolete. It's the case with Thermite (in regards to Ace) and it's the case with Glaz: why would you pick the latter when you can potentially have one-hit kills with Kali, plus an automatic weapon as a secondary, and one that is arguably better than some defender's primaries as well? She has pretty much no drawbacks when compared to Glaz and she also treads in Thatcher's territory.Originally Posted by Pulu. Go to original post
Beyond that I think the whole idea of Rainbow recruiting a PMC is ridiculous, as if there weren't enough incredible units to recruit from. I actually loved that Lion and Finka are technically GIGN and Spetsnaz, being great additions to the original contingents. I wish they'd have continued that road, with more people from SAS and FBI SWAT.
Finally, I find Kali's backstory lame and uninspiring. Rainbow is supposed to recruit the absolute best from the absolute best units and here you have a rich kid who, uh... became a bit of an entrepreneur and founded a PMC. That does NOT make for an elite soldier in and of itself. They tried way too hard to establish Nighthaven as this hardcore group of badass mercenaries but aside from maybe Ace, none of them have the service records to back it up.
"'New weapons cost money to make in the game of Siege.'"

The reason new guns cost more is because they have to be licensed by the company that manufactures- designed (or even both) the gun.
