Sorry, i meat in group fights.
you just see a guy burning off unblocklables with a excellent reach. And even when he goes sifu and steps back, he got an unblockable zone.

I think it depends on the context of the bash. If it's a true neutral bash I.E palm strike/toe stab or a forward dodge bash with non variable timing being able to chain off a whiff introduces a level of depth for both players involved. More decision making and player interaction rather than a binary dodge=punish in a situation where someone is trying to be offensive. Of course not every forward dodge non variable bash needs this

Zhanhu is a perfect example of a hero who has a way to mully his forward dodge animations making it hard to react to his forward dodge bash. So in this case he doesn't need to be able to chain off of his palm if it whiffs.

In Goki's case I'm not really sure I can agree to removing the ability to chain off whiff. Both side dodge and forward dodge are considered the same dodge and since Goki doesn't have a forward dodge mix his side dodge is how he's meant to get in and be threatening. It is a very strong defensive tool. But I think that's perfectly fine. The armor comes in late enough from his uncharged heavy that if you made an early read/reaction your dodge attack should be able to punish said bash even if he tries to go for the trade. I'm assuming you're doing this from Pk since she's your main. The timing will be stricter for her and Nuxia since both of their attacks comes 300ms into the dodge. But it's still well possible. (forgot valk's is 300ms into her dodge as well.)

I am playing less pk now. I actually think it is broken while playing Hito and Warlord, neither has basically anything to punish that bash, and their main offense is useless because of it. It is a new "when in doubt, do this relatively safely" move.

We don't have to look further than Conqueror to see how a side bash move should work. You go for it, it misses, guardbreak. Maybe I would not apply it for the forward and chain bash, but for the side one, it absolutely stop chains on miss (and as I said, it should deal more damage in return).

I extremely dislike conq side bashes.

Hito is a funny case. She can't consistently punish it but Gryphon can. Both have a 600ms side heavy dodge that comes 300ms into the dodge. The difference between the two though is Hitokiri's dodge heavy has less I frames than usual. So when they "fixed" her dodge attack by removing the delay window she lost the ability to consistently punish low recovery bashes.
