A future for Starlink? From a sincere fan...
I love Starlink.
I LOVE STARLINK.
This is by far, one of the most enjoyable games I HAVE EVER PLAYED. I BOUGHT IT THREE TIMES for the opportunity to play it. And I have fallen in love.
From characters, to the worlds, even down to the music, atmosphere, and EVEN the Toys-To-Life mechanic were implemented fantastically, with digital play still supported if need be (it's been a real help for me. Joy-Con Drift war veteran here, still fighting...)
But, despite the wonderful quality of Ubisoft's toys, the talented work of Ubisoft Toronto, and genuine passion for the game, there's no denying STARLINK went the same way BATTLETAG did (remember that? The Ubisoft Laser Tag game from like 2009? I do!)
IT. FAILED. HARD.
Now, I still scour the internet hoping to complete the physical collection (someday), but I need to get this out there. I WANT MORE.
I want to see more of the STARLINK universe, travelling to new Star Systems, with new characters, new ships, and new weapons. Heck, I know Toys To Life is DEAD, but I'd still be okay if it wasn't a TTL compatible game. I just want to see the STARLINK universe expand.
I don't expect anyone to feel the same way I do, as I'm probably the last person to ever care about this DOA game, and the ONLY one to not be interested in it just because of the STARFOX collab.
I pray that some day, we can blast into the stars again someday. I just hope I'm not the only one.
Ubi, if you're listening, please, don't let STARLINK die. At least, not forever. Someday, somehow, please give this franchise another try. I know you guys have the talent, the heart, and the spirit to do great things. Whenever the day comes, I'll be strapped in the cockpit, ready to take off again.

Yeah, well...
It's fine to want more. I do, too.
But it's not going to happen. Ubisoft shut down Starlink development a long time ago (I'm guessing back in 2019, although of course they'd never give us a date). Ubisoft has other games in the works, and proposing a retry of a failed concept isn't what management wants to hear.
Dumping the TTL aspect wouldn't help, either. Ubisoft already did that with the Crimson Moon update back in May 2019. That update was [my opinion, of course] a strong bid to breathe life back into Starlink:
- They explicitly said that they weren't doing Toys-to-Life any more.
- They added some non-campaign activities (racing and brawling), with leaderboards.
- They added two new campaigns, including one that is extremely challenging at the Very Hard difficulty level, and increased the difficulty of some high-level opponents. Some players had complained that even at Very Hard, the game was still too easy.
- They made the game available on PC.
- They added new DLC for five pilots, three ships, and four new weapons. (And Mk.1/Mk.2 variations of seven existing weapons.)
- For Switch, they added the Star Fox Team Pilots Pack DLC with three new pilots and a new Star Fox campaign.
And they did all of that at one time, which should have gotten the most attention from the reviewers and influencers and whoever else.
But it didn't work. The game couldn't be revived. For most platforms, the Crimson Moon update was the last one. Switch got one quick update after that to fix a bug with a location that wouldn't register as completed. The PC version generated a lot of bad feelings with its refusal to run under a VM, but there was never an update for that.
I love the game. I still play it, almost two and a half years after originally buying it. But I have no delusions that anything more will ever happen.

Those are very valid points. It hurts to think that such a great universe will never see the light of day again, but there's nothing any of us can do. But Ubisoft has thrown many curveballs at us before, Maybe someday there may be a new open world space game that may reference, or even act as a continuation or part of the Starlink universe, even if it isnt explicitly marketed as a Starlink game. But, I can't deny. The game was doomed from the start.
It may not be a game of the year to many people, and it may never be remembered again. But, at least for me...
God it was good.
