Hi Agents,
I was wondering if someone might be able to clear this up for me. The exotic backpack Memento states the following:
Talent: Kill Confirmed
Enemies you kill drop a trophy on death. Collecting trophies provides both a short- and long-term buff, the first of which scales with the number of core attributes equipped and lasts 10 seconds.
5% weapon damage per red core,
10% bonus armor per blue core.
5% skill efficiency per yellow core.
For every trophy collected, gain an additional +1% weapon damage, +1% skill efficiency, and +0.1% armor regeneration for 300s. Maximum 30 stacks.
Now for my confusion: Is the 10 second buff linked to the 300s Buff?
Example: Say I have 6 Red cores, (Ignore the 1 Yellow and 1 blue core form memento itself to make it easier) I pick up a trophy. For 10 Seconds I should have 30% weapon damage. That part makes sense.
But for the second bonus, am I just getting +1% weapon damage per trophy? Or am i getting the full +1% weapon damage, Skill efficiency, and +0.1% Armor regen?
Again, going back to the 6 red cores, if I collect 30 trophies, would the 31st give me: +30% weapon damage for 10 seconds, and +30% weapon damage for 300 second? Or would it be +30% weapon damage for 10 seconds, and plus 30% weapon damage/skill efficiency and +3% armor regen for 300 seconds?
I hope this makes sense, and im very sorry if this was explained elsewhere, i tried to google it, look through forums and reddit and can't find a concrete answer.
Thanks!

No. It's perfectly reasonable to play Memento entirely ignoring the 10 second buff; the 300 second buff (along with the three core attributes) still offers some significant advantages. (This is how I play it; I take the 10 second buffs only when it's safe and reasonably convenient to do so.)Originally Posted by TehPhippy Go to original post
Another important thing to remember is that picking up just one (or sometimes two are necessary) kill confirmation refreshes the entire buff. So once you're up to 30%/30%/3% on the 300 second buff, you simply need to make sure you pick up one or two kill confirmations before it expires and you'll keep the full buff. For this reason I often leave behind plenty of kill confirmations once I'm up to full buff so that if I notice it getting close to expiring and I can't move forward to pick up confirmations, I can go back and pick them up. (This is particularly useful if you want to spend a couple of minutes in your inventory doing cleanup or whatever: leave a couple of kill confirmations to pick up after that and you'll be back at a full 300 seconds left on the buff.)
This is mostly how I play as well. Just kill everything in an encounter, then pick up all the trophies and move to the next encounter. Reapeat until max stacks, then only pick up an occasional trophy to refresh the stacks.Originally Posted by CategoryTheory Go to original post
Trying to gather trophies mid-combat is a trap that will get you killed, imo. It's like trying to grab loot mid-combat. Nothing but trouble.
The only exception is if you get low on armor and need a quick breather. Picking up a trophy can give a quick bonus armor add, which might be just enough to keep you alive.
Ban those annoying spammers -_-.
To OP.
1) there are two buffs.
Long term - every time you pick up a trophy it adds a stack. Up to 30 stacks lasts 5 minutes. Ferfeshes.
Each stack gives you 1%Weapon damage (base, just like your core stats, or on your gun), 0.1% armor per second and 1% skill efficiency (gives you 1% to all skill related stats, like skill damage, health, etc.)
2) short term buff doesn't stack. It lasts for 10 seconds and refreshes every time you pick up a trophy. It gives you stats, based on the amount of your core stats.
But, remember, that it gives Weapon damage bonus, but NOT TOTAL weapon damage
Yes the short term buffet stacks tooOriginally Posted by As1r0nimo Go to original post
No, it does not. Here are screenshots just after three pick-ups of kill confirmations, each within ten seconds of the previous one. Note that the armour bonus does not increase, though the ten second timer does get refreshed.Originally Posted by Imagine_Brata Go to original post
