Part of the problem is that Ubi is not very transparent about the issue.
I for one I would like to know how many accounts were banned in the last three months for example... and what else they did to try mitigating the problem.
Also, ban on account might not mean much when you can buy the game for $10. I would suggest ban per credit card used for the account, but that would be just bad business for Ubi, wouldn't it?
But I feel that this discussion goes nowhere really, just wasting time...
Waste of time, the anti cheat probably did work on release, its just been worked around since. Major games like cod an destiny 2 etc have the same issues, with the exception of they do actually ban people, ubi ban nobody, at all, ever. Doesnt matter if you send in proof of literally shooting through walls, they just let them carry on. The f2p will end up thr same and will fall flat on its face, everyone will return to the same old f2p games they've already built up and the cheaters will ensure another pvp flop for td franchise. Eventually they'll just stop making them. My hope is they dont actually do a td3 because it will just end the same way, they couldnt stop it in td1, they cant stop it in td2 so why bother with a 3rd? They cant stop people dropping their game for cheats so stick with making other things where its not a big issue.
Yes, but it's clear that you are incorrectly balancing overall happiness in the world. If not having a Division 3 makes HonestlyOK1986 feel even a little bit better, that's worth more than all of the enjoyment that millions of other players might get out of The Division 3. I always wonder what people like you think you'll accomplish with this argument. Nobody on this forum can ban cheaters, only Ubi can, and they've specified how to report them most effectively (i.e. via the in-game social menu).Originally Posted by DEDloc Go to original post
Perhaps beyond the scope of this thread - or this forum - but for the life of me I cannot understand why someone would pay money for easy wins over other players. Do people actually get an ego boost out of it, knowing it wasn't really 'you" who did it, it was SW you paid for?
I am at a point in my life (60 y/o, senior executive in a company, multiple investment portfolios) where I literally have more money than I know what to do with, yet I wouldn't pay a single red cent for some cheat software because I don't see any joy from letting code do the work for me. And yet there are kids with probably <1% of my net worth doling out their hard-earned money just to dominate against people they don't even know and will never meet.
Yeah, I'm just an old man ranting, but the thought process behind this totally escapes my rational mind.
That's a weird thing to hope, considering Division 2 is still being held back by last gen hardware. It will eventually hit its limit, even though the Dark Zone size and player numbers has showcased that already.Originally Posted by HonestlyOK1986 Go to original post
And if the anti cheat is the problem, the devs can look at the data and decide to change anti-cheats to a more effective one. Except, the only way to change the anti-cheat if the current anti-cheat isn't as effective as first thought, would be making a new game, or in this case, Division 3.
I personally haven't heard of a game changing anti-cheats mid lifespan.
