Yesterday, the DZ dropped an Yaahl Gear « The Hollow Man » mask for me! Yep!
But, in place of the expected « 21% Health Damage », there's a « 10% Health Damage ».
That a huge nerf!
But when, WHEN...?!
I can still bring this « Health Damage » to 36% (Assault Rifle + The Hollow Man mask + 3 pieces Walker & Harris), but...

W&H for 20%??? Huh?Originally Posted by CategoryTheory Go to original post
I know you got some crazy math skills, care to elaborate?
I have a HM with WD & CHD (also have one with CHC) but it's VERY situational that I use it.

I really hate that people are too lazy to update their websites and info. There's a LOT of information pollution surrounding this game.
I think he's talking about the weapon damage you'll lose from replacing a Walker harris with the Hollow man mask.Originally Posted by TxDieselKid Go to original post
Hollow man mask is Blue with the +10% to health damage attribute.
Walker harris is red 15% weapon damage and a +5%weapon damage bonus from the gear set so that makes +20% weapon damage.
So he's correct he'll lose +20% weapon damage. by swapping to a Hollow-man mask.
Given the choice W+H for +20% weapon damage or Hollow-man for +10% Damage to health i know which one i'd choose. even if you re-cal the blue to red at 15% i still think the W+H is better for the most part, unless you are doing a Hazard protect build.
As Cadillac-Jack pointed out, you get +5% Wdmg from the brand and another +15% Wdmg from the core attribute. As both you and he point out, recalibrating the Hollow Man with a red core can mitigate that, though then you're stuck with a health attribute (or whatever else is the third attribute on your mask).Originally Posted by TxDieselKid Go to original post
Still, that recalibration is worth considering, since the best thing I can think of to replace that third attribute with (in a weapon damage build) is +12% CHD if you have high CHC, which gives no more than +7.2% expected (i.e. average) weapon damage.
Well, damage to health is a separate multiplier, so that 10% is the equivalent of adding +22% or more to the weapon damage multiplier in an all-red build. So the real question there is how much of the time you're attacking health instead of armour.Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
It seems to me that, at Heroic level, it's not that much time at all except when you're facing Warhounds. (For whatever reason, hits against Warhound armour are modified by health damage, not armour damage, at least according to what I've read elsewhere.) I seem to spend more time killing Elites than anything else, and most of that is working their armour. (Their health, when I get to it, goes down almost instantly anyway.)
That is quite true. You only face armor in the sense of the attribute Damage to Armor if an enemy has the distinctive dotted white armor bar above their health bar. And that's it.Originally Posted by CategoryTheory Go to original post
If an enemy has a shield icon above the health bar, this is indeed considered Damage to Health. This is for example true for the aforementioned Warhounds or some heavily armored troops like BT chunga. Damage to Health is also pretty nice against weak spots, thus it is coming in handy when for example playing raids (Razorback has lots of weak points, there are weak points in nearly every encounter in Iron Horse).
