Nice, like that you have put a improvised holster in the build.Originally Posted by Imagine_Brata Go to original post
EDIT: Have you tried 3 x W&H instead of 3 x Providence?...
Some nice builds being thrown up. ATF_Xeno's is probably carving things up. What's interesting to me too is the relative value given to damage. The build I use has ample damage to meet the demands of the content but probably doesn't get out of the door for a speedrun team. At a banal level, the total damage required is equal to the total damage the enemy can take, but what defines a 'win' can change. I dunno, I think it's interesting to look at it from as many perspectives as you can muster.
I usually have 2 W&H sometimes it works wellOriginally Posted by Riflemania Go to original post
I finally dragged myself away from Path of Exile and logged in to see what my AR build was like and it's pretty much the same as your's....few differences though.Originally Posted by Imagine_Brata Go to original post
1: I don't have Perfect Vigilance (can't bring myself to do the DZ)
2: I don't use a Improvised Holster (got one in stash just can't be bothered to optimize it)
3: I use the Police M4/Dark Winter Combo (love these weapons too much to let go)
4: I have less CHD (i could get more but prefer a little weapon handling and mods on weapon with stability)
5: I use Unbreakable (i solo 99.9% of the time)
Other than that it's pretty much the same, had a bash with 3 x W&H over 3 x Providence (open world, the real place to test)....it's great but depends on what i'm doing/fighting......
I would like to change from Unbreakable too Obliterate but with 3 kids shouting down my ear whilst playing solo is a nightmare
Oh well, back to Path of Exile![]()
My game style, which makes me often in a state of moving or out of cover.
This makes me only choose Fox's. Of course, Sawyers is not useless, but it doesn't suit my style.
My other all-red build, the classic 3 x Providence...
As for W&H, my consideration is that if you encounter heavy armored units and mechanical units, 2XW&H will be slightly embarrassing, because talents are useless for this type of goal...
This is why I sometimes choose to use The Ravenous.
Nice for a skill build using Capacitor or a hybrid skill build. I'd best nab a pair of them.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
Or reroll the skill damage to crit to turn it into an "all red" item.Originally Posted by RichardOshea Go to original post
More testing but this time I took it out of the range and into the open world for a repeatable engagement. It's been asked why I'm doing these videos, it's because the math assigns a probabilistic value to an event that may occur and this video describes what did occur. While the math can certainly describe much it doesn't describe everything so a video shows us and an example is needed for that.
These videos show the repeatable engagement outside of the BOO. I've used the same faction, target out of cover and approximate range each time.
First are Fox's Prayer knee pads:
Damage dealt to kill: 6,502,354
Time to kill: 1.5 seconds
Ammo spent: 22 rounds
Second are Walker Harris & Co:
Damage dealt to kill: 6,705,802
Time to kill: 1.2 seconds
Ammo spent: 17 rounds
In that build, being played at that world difficulty and above I'm still prioritising armour. Trading 12% CHD and 5% Damage to Armour for 8% Damage to Out of Cover -- Even losing 6% CHC to get that 12% CHD back-- doesn't persuade me, personally. You have the gear you have as a simple fact and I'm not in to telling people what to do with it. We've seen some nice build choices already and I'd be plain stupid to tell their architects that they don't work.
So what to do about 70m of armour coming your way(AKA Chunga or Heavy)? As ATF-Xeno suggested, an AR ain't it and neither are most things so we're already looking at solutions that go well beyond Fox's Prayer knee pads.
*Edit
So to circle back to the original question: I wouldn't use Fox's in that build, or in a build where raw chd isn't a priority.
