You're out of luck. The songs load from the servers so no server no song.

What if netflix or amazon goes down? Same deal.

It happens but you hope not that often.

Of course ubisoft could comp for down time whereas netflix and amazon wont.

Good point on the comparison with movie streaming services. Possibly the Amazons of the world have more money and customers involved, so might spend more on ensuring that servers don't go down. They also have more competition, so might take it more seriously to ensure server downtime is minimal. I guess we'll see how this goes.

But there are the fogey stogey ones who will continue to play CDLC on the PS3 forever.

Unless of course Ubisoft pushes an update crippling CDLC.
Then you guys will have to hack the support back an and it'll live in the underworld, where ransomware might be attached to it.
You just need to turn of auto-updates then it wouldn’t matter what they pushed out.

I will probably purchase a one-year subscription right off the bat and then reevaluate after that. It sounds like there will be a ton of songs by that point. The biggest factor for me (by far) is going to be the songs. Really hoping some big ones will be easier to acquire under this model.

thejohnnewton, did they simplify the graphics? aka lets make the graphics crude so people can play this on a 4-color commodore 64 kinda deal?

I'm gonna guess 85% of the mehs from everyone is that the new highway looks like garbage.

Like Jet Set Radio or something.

I wonder if this RS version has Session Mode.

And if it does, I hope they improved upon it.
