    Cleaner boss

I saw something I never saw before - I was doing a control point and the final boss came he was the big guy with the gas tanks and Flame thrower so I killed ever one else because he's so slow and I was messing around with him and all of a sudden he pulled out a sledge hammer and started chasing me I have never seen this boss with a flame thrower and sledge hammer. He can run pretty fast once he gets going too for such a big guy - it was pretty funny - anyone else have this happen?

One of his weak points (the tank hanging down by his left leg, partially protected by armour) is the fuel tank for his flamethrower - destroy it and he'll switch to melee.

Personally I find the easiest way to deal with those heavies is to go for the oxygen tank on the back (it pokes out slightly on his left side if he's facing you), it's quite easy to destroy and will force him to take his helmet off, then you can just headshot him.

Yeah ive had that a fair bit! These guys are a definite upgrade from the ones on td1, harder to take down with the extra armour and better movement. Did a good job upgrading the cleaners.

Yeah, I didn't want to spoil it for you but that is what happens when you take out both of his tanks. You do not have to also take out the pouch, just the tanks. Once one discovers this, It becomes almost trivial to take them down. Because exploding the tank on his back (which is hittable from the front too) will momentarily make him unable to shoot the flamethrower, and during that time you can take out the tank on his left leg. There isn't usually quite enough time to take out the leg tank, but you can quickly shoot the pouch and that will cause him to flutter for a bit.

The pouch is necessary to take out if you are keeping him at a distance, because he fire bombs you and it is quite damaging. Take out the pouch and he no longer has a medium to far range attack.

Yeah, I've always wondered what all the weakpoints did to him. But like the_Kettle said, I think the one on his back is his O2 for his mask. I always shoot the valve and he goes down super fast with headshots after he takes off his mask.

All of the faction heavies have weak points that (if destroyed) forces them to switch to a melee attack. The Outcasts guy runs an axe if I recall.

One of them - I think it is Black Tusk - uses the chaingun and has a weak spot where the bullet feed comes down. Hit that and he needs to stop, kneel down and re-load the gun, giving you a few seconds to pound on him without any return fire.

The outcast heavy runs a sledgehammer normally, has no weakpoints that I've ever found. True Sons and Rikers switch to sidearms if you destroy their weakpoints (shotgun for TS, pistol? for Riker). I think it might actually be the cleaner heavy that runs an axe (a fire axe would make sense) rather than the sledgehammer mentioned above.

Not sure about the chainsaw heavy (underground faction?), don't see them often enough to establish if they have any weakpoints, but probably not, since they're melee by default.

What interests me is if they have any unarmoured sections: I generally run headhunter sniper build, and a few times (maybe 3 or 4) I've 1-shot black tusk and true sons heavies, without breaking any armor or weakpoints first, and I have no idea how. In every case I've been aiming for their backpack weakpoint (to their left side as they face me), which suggests they have an unarmored spot immediately behind the weakpoint, but I've never been able to achieve this deliberately or consistently. I have noted that while their armpits appear unarmoured, it doesn't seem possible to directly damage their health by shooting there (mostly tested on the outcast heavy at close range).

I also finally made it also through Liberty Island without loosing armor - it all depends on the team to get that patch. I have to thank the team mates for getting that.

A common way of doing this is to use the corrosive chem launcher, which doesn't do health damage. It takes quite a lot of time, though, and you also usually need to drop a restorer hive or something similarly non-damaging to attract his aggro so he'll stand still in the chem launcher cloud for a bit. And of course you need to make sure you're either doing it solo or your team understands what you're doing.
