If you customize a teammates weapon, does that actually affect much?
For exemple, does a higher power rifle do more damage? Does an extended mag affect how often they reload? Is their RoF impacted? Does the recoil and handling affect their accuracy in full-auto?
Has anyone tested this or noticed?
What I've noticed is that the gun you equip does certainly affect their fire mode selections. If you give them a gun that doesn't have full auto, they won't fire full auto, but if you do give them a weapon with full auto, they will use that. Also, the sound of their gun matches what you equip them with. I once had a couple of Wolves join my squad so I equipped them with Tavors... but quickly undid that as I couldn't tell who was firing... them or actual Wolf enemies (working as it should I guess).![]()
the weapon you give them does not change just because it is in the hand of a teammate, the rate of fire of your teammates is the rate of fire of the weapon, give them a M4A1 and they will fire with the fire rate of teh M4A1, give them a silver stake and they will fire with the rate of fire of the silver stake.
as the customization menue tells you attachments are purely cosmetic for AI teammates and do not effect the performance of thair weapon.
Thanks... I missed that. Do you suppose the damage they do is based on the weapon as well?Originally Posted by Leucos_ Go to original post
I've watched my teammate shoot with full auto and about 1 in every 10 rounds hits... they are wildly inaccurate. Much less accurate than the weapon. So I'm wondering if DPS for teammates is going to be fairly low regardless of what weapon you give them, or if you should favour high RoF or high damage?
The only thing I noticed were sound distinctions, not so much accuracy/damage. If you give one teammate an MK 17, it will have a distinct sound, separate from say a G36. It sounds like the rate of fire is different, but I haven't payed enough attention to confirm if the rate of fire is actually different or if it's just an illusion. They are different based on weapon class though.
One big disappointment is now that teammates can toss frags, they still won't use a grenade launcher from the under barrel. So yeah, the weapon loadout accessories are just for cosmetics.
It might. I know the Sniper Rifle damage is a one-shot kill for AI teammates. It takes a bit more for assault rifles. I've also noticed they're more effective using the M4A1 Tactical (semi fire by default) than they are using full auto weapons.Originally Posted by Virtual-Chris Go to original post
I would mean only the basic weapon changes her Attac style (by order to fire) , but not the attachments of the weapon (scope, underbarrel). Example if vasily use a sniper he one shoots every enemy at a distance, if he use a shotgun he goes into close combat.
I didn't notice any difference between assault rifles and MPs. (Same for the dps, assault rifles and MPs needs some shots no matter wich rate of fire, Sniper, DMRs and Shoguns are mostly one shot kills).
For the simultanion shots, they usually use a different weapon that cannot be changed, especially if you give them a modified weapon without a Suppressor.
I noticed something today which was pretty ridiculous. I deactivated Fury and Fixit and equipped Vasily with a M82 SNR. I then put him in a perfect overwatch position, instructed him to sync shot a rocket gunner, 300m away and then watched what he did.
He stows the M82, drawing the invisible ASR from his pack and proceeds to run up the hill away from the target, telling me he’s ready to shoot whilst still running and facing away. I tell him to shoot, at which he does nothing, but the rocket dies anyway, presumably from a sudden, coincidental cardiac arrest!
Nothing like attention to detail to enhance the immersive experience.
LOL... I know. It's best you don't watch what your teammates are doing.Originally Posted by Hugo-FOU Go to original post![]()
