Freezing/Stuttering yet FPS is still at 70-80FPS

    Greetings all,

Myself and a few friends have been experiencing stuttering and freezing. I can confirm 1 friend and myself are getting 70-80 FPS in game. Using multiple ways of checking the FPS all results are consistent ; the 1 friend might get a bit higher though depending on area yet average is 70-80FPS. However, we have been getting areas that we freeze and stutter (No FPS drop though). Does anyone have any possible fix? Or is this a known issue recently?

My system is I7 (9th gen) 1660 NVIDIA Ge Force, with 16gb ram. Friends system is a Ryzen 7, 2060 NVIDIA Ge Force, with 32gb ram I think. Both running Win 10(and yes we know windows blows).

    Thanks in advance!

Hello GoldenDraggon76, welcome to the forums!

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. Can you please confirm which GPU driver are you currently using? Have you tried updating it/downgrading it by any chance to check if it's causing this particular issue?

Secondly, can you please try the troubleshooting steps in this article? It will help to eliminate any potential software conflicts.

Many thanks and if you have any additional questions, please let us know!

Current GPU driver is 466.27 for GeForce. I'll try rolling the driver back if the latest update 466.77 (which just came out) still does the issue. As for the troubleshooting step in the article I will give them a try this weekend and reply if it fixes or not.

Thank you for the quick response.

Finally had the chance to reply. Going through the troubleshooting article steps seem to provide a little relief to the freezing/stuttering. It is no where near as frequent. Computer specs are Intel I7 with 16gb ram Video Card GeForce 1660 and have more then enough storage with tons to spare.

In the last few days after doing the steps in the article the freezing/stuttering seems to be a lot less. They do still occur maybe 1 or 2 times during game play, but seems to be only certain areas or while flying is the only times I see them happening when freezing occurs.

Not sure if it helps, but I had to disable HDR and FREESYNC HDR. With them running I was having major screen freezes and consistent crashing. Turned them off and have not had an issue since.

Thank you for providing that tip, W.R.A.1.T.H

If you haven't already, I'd certainly advise trying the steps suggested by W.R.A.1.T.H to see if their tip can help improve this further.

Thanks for the tip on those 2 settings W.R.A.1.T.H. Though those are already off. I will have to remember that one though to mention to a friend that is having similar issue.

Thanks for letting me know you've tried those steps as well. Do you happen to remember the specific areas where you notice the freezing occurring more often?
