    Level 40

Is there any way to get to level 40 without buying the dlc? Just making sure.

You mean the same way the progression to level 30 is also locked behind a paywall? (I think I got up to about level 8 in the free demo before I ran out of time and had to buy the game to go further.)

It's an expansion for a game. Welcome to gaming.

This isn't a F2P game, what did you expect?

Buy the DLC, it is so worth it. Great fun, much better guns and gear, good progression, and it is cheap.

I feel that the DLC is very worthwhile, even at the curent non-sale $30 price. But if that feels a bit stiff for you, it seems to go on sale for $10 every two or three months.

There's a lot of good stuff in it beyond just the level 31-40 campaign. Particularly helpful (at least for players finding the game a bit easy) are the directives and the ability to set the difficulty level of the open world.

Well I was referring to the fact that you can't progress to level 40 without buying the expansion. I can understand if some exclusive gears and missions are locked with the expansion. Or if players get access to some meta build only by buying the expansion. But increasing the level cap and locking it with the dlc is way too much imo. BTW this is not what I expect from a paid game. This IS what I expect from a F2P game.

Just look at it this way: The game Division 2 (without DLC) ended at level 30, there is no progression after level 30.

Then you're clearly VERY new to gaming. This is an industry standard, and not even close to unreasonable.

Sell the base game. The base game is out for around a year, then release an expansion pack. They don't even charge that much for it. So when you say it's unreasonable, it comes across kind of entitled. Or giving you the benefit of the doubt.....extremely inexperienced.
