CONFIRMED: Map Editor is OUT of FC6

So youtuber JorRaptor interviewed a Ubi lead and it was confirmed that the Arcade will not be making a return.

    Source: https://youtu.be/tZE9icWOiFg

This truly is disappointing, but not entirely shocking. We've kinda veen calling it for a while now. I DO APPRECIATE Ubisoft letting us know well in advance, though. I threw a massive fit with Far Cry 4 after they only told us that FC4 wouldnt get MP like the day before launch.

The video does echo my exact sentiment that Arcade should (and deserves) to live on its own outside of the main games, even free to play. It would be a HUGE waste if they didnt. Especially with new gen consoles out.

I DID call this 10 months ago. But I do have more thoughts on the matter here:

In terms of free-to-play, we'll just have to wait and see. When Ubisoft launched Hyper Scape, people lost interest rather quickly despite being a game that came out of nowhere. I guess it's not surprising because even Doom 2016's SnapMap didn't even return in Doom Eternal.

Well this is the end for me ... I am not saying this in A negative way. It is just time to move on.

You Know I started out on Far Cry 2 Multiplayer , and none of the other Far Cry Titles Really Compared .... They really fell lower than expectations for each Release ..

I think alot of Gamers seen this coming For A long long time ........

Alot of Us Pleaded with Ubisoft Devs. To Bring back A Far Cry 2 Remake/ Remaster . Maybe A Next gen. 60 fps You know A Polished Far Cry 2 . Only to Fall on Deaf Ears ... I do not think They really know , or will ever care about what the Community wants ..

The Devs. Really only want to go their on direction. Unlike other Developers who really listen to their Community, and make alot of things come to reality.

This is Why Ubisoft will always be A few steps behind other Major Company's. They Are so disconnected from their Player Base .

Honestly I can No longer Support this game . I am not asking others to do the same, but as long as gamers continue to purchase , then I do not expect the Ubisot Devs. , or The Ubisoft Company as A whole will ever get the Message . It would have to take A Major nose dive in Sales to get their Attention.

I know for myself it has been A stressful time Since the release of Far Cry 3 Multiplayer until Now .. That is alot of years of disappointment. Sometimes games are just not enjoyable anymore . I believe I am at that point.

I just want to thank The Ubisoft / Crytek developers For giving the Community Far Cry 2 , and taking the time to really go all out to create something SO!!! memorable that gamers are still playing it today on the PS3 . I cant thank you enough .

Now this is just A side note: The Youtuber JorRaptor was talking like A Ubisoft paid Supporter ... I have seen some of his Videos over the years , and He talked very highly of the Far Cry Arcade , and now he contradicts his self by basically saying it is better off without it. Never Trust people with Forked Tongues .

Thank you all for your time , and I am Looking Forward to A new IP possibly from A different Company . Something to Bring back that Enjoyment in my life . The same way Far Cry 2 did Years ago.

Take Care everyone it has been A long ride .......

Personally I found the Arcade a disappointing experience.

I appreciate the interest in being able to play created maps, but I found 95% of them to be shockingly bad.

I also think that FC6 will be a better game without it. From what I've seen of FC6, it's a big step forward from FC5.

It's not shocking if players are trying to learn how to use it. No one should expect everyone who use it to be an expert professional in the first day of using it. It's ridiculous when gamers have expectations to be absurdly unrealistic. Let's say a game had modding support, you can't just expect the modding community to design sophisticated mods (Not just skins) in a single day that's supposed to take months or years of effort.

joyraptor interestingly said that Arcade may have caused Ubisoft to lose focus in the direction of Far Cry 5 in terms of balancing between single player and multiplayer action as well as leading to issues for multiplayer gameplay, and if this change means that they put more focus into the campaign/single player aspect to keep it constant, I won't consider Arcade's absence a terrible loss. This may mean we will have more replayability for single player compared to Far Cry 4 and 5.

Gutted! Im out too. The only thing worth buying this game was for the editor, but TBH the MP would have been shockingly piss-poor anyways!
