I cant wait, I hope the map is truly massive. The more massive the better. I hope it takes 2 hours to walk across in real time, I love HUGE open worlds. Please make it massive Ubi.

I'd like it to be big, but I do believe there is such a thing as 'too big' for open world games. I'd be more than willing to sacrifice scale for interactivity for example.

My understanding is that Far Cry 5's valley was around 50 2km.

A game like Ghost Recon Wildlands was 400 2km.

Yara could be somewhere in the middle - I'd be surprised if it was Ghost Recon big.

Much depends on whether traversal is expected to be done by foot or by vehicle.

GR Wildlands has what I feel to be one of gamings most awesome maps. Both in scale and in its biomes. Extremely well done, loved its massive size, rainforests, mountains, scrubland and the salt flats. I hope the FC6 map is as big or bigger.

i played ghost recon wildland and it seemed to me like map was much bigger then it needed to be i never felt reason to go to many places and it became boring to travel huge distance to go find gear and weapons i think wildland is too big and i hope far cry will not be so vast but more dense and interesting

I agree. The reason the Wildlands map worked so well is because you were often traversing it by helicopter.

In Far Cry 6, it seems to be that driving will be the primary means of travel with the powered glider also being there. Both suit a large map, but not Wildlands large.

Not saying that fc6 won't be the biggest, but when I see that pic of it the impression I get is that it's smaller than fc3 map

Contrary to previous Far Cry where i dived into trailers and videos only to end up playing the game with that "i know 80% of the game now" feeling, i haven't done this with FC6 meaning that i have no idea of how the game looks besides the shots we had back in jury 2020.

The fact that they said "it s the biggest map yet" makes me wonder. The one that felt the biggest to me was Primal, because i was on foot and that there was a wolf pack every 10m to stop me from running straight. Loved it, but i'm clearly expecting something massive for FC6. They're talking about "a country with towns and cities", with farms and forests... plus the water all around (i guess we ll do some diving in sunken boats and stuff like in 3). I go in blindly but i m sure to be happy in the end.

Other than talking about the size of the world, the city, and terrain, I'd like to see different structures and assets that are not seen in the trailers. While yes, Far Cry 6 is returning to its tropical roots, I'd like to see ancient structures. Considering how past Far Cry games had always shown ancient structures, I'd love to see some in Yara. Since it located in the Caribbean, we wouldn't necessarily see the Aztecs or Mayans. It would be nice to see if there's some Taíno, Igneri, Kalinago and/or other ethnic tribes. They did show the Spanish voyagers who colonized the Americas, but it would also be cool if there are pirates and easter eggs from Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag.
