We've barely seen community managers post in the forums here...
Come on man. They sure do read their own fc6 forum.

Developer sources tell me that some devs do like to pop in to forums (silently).

However, checking out forums for 'ideas' will usually happen years ahead of a game launch.

Take 'prone' for example. If it has returned in FC6, then that decision will have been taken 2-3 years ago.
If it isn't there, it's not going to be added as these things need to be designed in from the start.

That's not to say that if there's an interest, it might return in FC7, but only if the developers themselves feel it's a way they want to go.

I guess it's going to come down to whether 'prone' fits the guerrilla story (as Ubisoft wishes to tell it) and whether it works with the terrain to be found on Yara.

Not that I am a expert on guerrilla warfare, but I am vaguely aware that prone position helps significantly with weapon accuracy and concealment, both of which are very helpful when engaging overwhelming enemy forces.

However you make a very valid point, if the dev team was ever going to add prone it would had happened a long time ago. It's way too late to start coding and bugtesting this feature just months before launch, given the size of terrain. This doesn't mean they couldn't add this feature post-launch, but if they do it will take some time. Just a reminder, it took over a year for Ubisoft to add knife kills to Ghost Recon Wildlands post-launch, which was one to the most requested features by the community ever since beta.

The A.I. isn't tactical enough to warrant a prone option, even on higher difficulties.

lol you haven't played on hardcore right?, and have you never been hit when taking cover behind very small objects, when all you needed there was prone?

I beat the game on infamous and never once thought "man i wish i could go prone", but prone in general is more of a tool for snipers and I find sniping dull. I'm more of a close range and stealth player. A silenced sniper is, to me, the coward's bow.

jeeze another run and gun heroe hating on snipers. Oh well. So that's why you don't want prone?, because sniping?, my goodness never before had I heard of such poor argument.

Aren't you able to even realize that prone is also useful for stealth, for instance when sneaking out while taking the outposts?

I do miss lying face down inside air vents and under huts in villages.

Not once in any post I've ever written have I ever said I don't want prone, I just kinda don't care if they don't add it. Indifference and not wanting it are not the same thing. I wouldn't be upset if they added it, I just wouldn't care if they don't.

Also, lighten up a little fella, a friendly jab at sniping never killed nobody. sheeesh

Being able to prone in a shooter, specially in one like this with the freedom it offers benefits everyone. There's no single reason not to have it. Even friggin' CoD features it.

Not wanting prone because of snipers simply is, preposterous.
