For all of the useless skills.

I don't know why they made all skills have a single yellow skill class increase when fireflies, traps and decoys are obviously incompatible with yellow. I think it would be better if all skills were made to increase their skill class with other traits, like shields. Decoy is red and blue, for example. Or that defender drones are red only.

Those 3 you list are all crowd-control skills which can work really well in a coop situation, where another player can take advantage of the blinded/shocked/distracted enemies and put out a lot of damage. Legendary missions in particular benefit from dedicated CC builds.

Hell, even solo you can put together an all-red build, swap in two yellow cores, add technician specialisation and future perfect on the weapons and get up to tier 6 or overcharge on your skills while barely sacrificing any damage. (I did try this with the defender drone recently though, and it still sucked).

Except for the part you forgot ot mention they nerfed blinder firefly since it was too good at blinding everyone and having such a fast cooldown that they it pretty much became a stunlock for misisons. If you could get super strong skills withouti investing in skills, why bother having skill tiers or any yellow stat then?

I think youre kinda right about it.
Decoy should have a higher tier per red core.
    But that's the only skill.
Just like only the shield is with blue core.

Fireflies and traps are nice for CC or explosive builds.

But the decoy skill could be really usefull with sniper builds. (Especially with Mantis)

well, if i had it my way everybody would be at skill tier six, no matter what. You would still have to build for skill damage, skill repair, etc. but the health(except for shields), duration and other basic stats would be constant. This would make a lot more sense and allow all players to take more advantage of the one thing that makes division agents able to take on the whole city; the tech/skills. that's part of what makes this game so unique and that's why they should be the center of every build. A by product of this would be that skills like the decoy and pulse would be a lot more use-able on a weapon build.

But I'm not a dev so this probably won't work for balancing like at all.

Funnily enough, if you go full skill and use Artillery Turret, you do not need crowd control, the turret tends to kill everything......As a Full Red, you NEED the crowd control.

The main thing I'm trying to convey is the fact that I don't use skills like decoy until I have all the yellow equipment. If you can't defeat the enemy even if you control it, what's the point? And while it's good to be able to work in co-op, I don't think that's going to change because the effect is the same whether you follow my comments or not. I just want the skill to be useful for both solo and multiplayer. Because skills are an important part of Division.
