The Division 2 Heartland Free To Play Pros and Cons

Here's the Pros and Cons I can think about the new F2P games from Ubisoft - The Division 2 Heartland.

And I think this new F2P game from Ubisoft will suffer the same fate with other F2P game like Fortnite, Warzone, etc. due to massive monetization, full of hacks and cheats to name a few.

    Pros of F2P games:

    1. The ability to play for free.
    2. Easier promotion for Ubisoft, because the player is much easier to agree to download a free game than a paid one.
    3. Release updates more often to keep already engaged gamers. And this stimulates F2P games to make improvements more often than paid games, which is a plus for the player, albeit an additional difficulty for the developer.

    Cons of F2P games:

    1. Advertising is too aggressive.
    3. Encourages developers to put prices on more things
    2. Game may not be (read: probably aren't) truly "free to play", but instead require you to pay money to get past certain parts
    3. Often some kind of imbalance due to someone paying for better items/gear.
    4. Generally lacking in one form or another (graphics, gameplay, etc.) to make up for the loss in immediate funds.
    5. Most F2P games are prone to abuse from hacks and cheats.

Well with some newsites claiming that even the new rainbow six parasites will be f2p, kinda makes you wonder what direction is ubisoft going into, lot of their games is very formulaic. For honor and Siege are pretty copy paste of each other applied to a esport shooter and esport fighting game, they let some of those concepts stew for a while apply to some other franchise and see if it comes out rotten or great new recipe to restart the same process, Assassins creed was starting to smell foul so they had to remake everything, then they later tried to apply their new open world format into ghost recon breakpoint and that didn't mix well.

The new f2p is going to be a new kind of soup, if the ingredients don't work well, then most likely all of their f2p games will not work

isn't acknowledgement of being under NDA itself against NDA?

In my experience, free to play games also are a much bigger target for cheaters. Because getting caught isn't such a big deal, because you don't end up having a game you paid $59 for that you are banned from.

Td1 and td2 have suffered badly with cheats and hacks, they cant stop them, im fully expecting the f2p to be full of the same old cheats, ita incredibly boring, but i suppose id you'rd that bad at a game you need to cheat then what can you do?!

They need to make the pve side so good that we dont need to go into pvp for entertainment and the possibility of the cheats/hacks being there to spoil perfectly good games.

A survival type game should avoid metas, randomise what gear is where like survival on td1, then its down to the luck of the draw of what gear you got and the tactics you're usi g with what you have.

On a side note, its a f2p, point 3 of more updates probably wont happen. They may through in some more maps or objectives but i imagine the base game will remain the same.

Free to play games will cost more in the long run with in game buys to get anywhere - lots of free to play games that are raking in money - this is bad for gamer's. That's why they did it more money can be made from the players and they can fix it so in order to get anywhere you have to make a purchase. This unfortunately is the future of gaming.

Even games like FarCry have evolved with in game stores to advance in the game which started with New Dawn making some of the items very difficult to obtain making purchasing tempting but you could still get them with lots of grinding or hunting the right animals. I hesitate to buy the new FarCry because of in game purchases that are bound to be there.

Well all free to play games are infested with cheaters even with games that were purchased there will be cheaters regardless. Heck here in TD2 there are cheaters they just won't admit it personally that they cannot do anything against cheaters as they are free to roam the game, only thing they can do is removing the evidence or the name of that player who is caught cheating or hacking and let you go to a certain process to report where it will be just ignored and forgotten.

It seems to me alone that Ubisoft just had to make a new addon, like the "Warlords of New York", and this is all what they must to do? xD
