Why does this game need to install twice if bought on Epic?

I find it utterly astounding a game this big needs to install twice for seemingly no reason. To my knowledge there should be no reason for a launcher and DRM to install only half and force a second launcher to download the other half. I know this isn't the case because of having Ubi games on Steam and it ONLY installing once and launching from UPlay, sorry UConnect, and being able to only use the U Connect version to play that game. So why does it need me to download the full ~65GB game on Epic ONLY to download UConnect and install it through that? I even checked reported game sizes from players online and it should only be around ~65GB. I feel very cheated out of my own storage space as it seems that in the Epic install folder there is no .exe for this game and it appears that any files that usually coincide with game data are entirely missing after that "full game download". It seems that the ONLY version that actually has the game is the UConnect instance which appeared in my account after purchase from Epic. Storage space is expensive, it's something I need to have a control over and this is really cheating me out of my own storage by artificially inflating the file size to twice what it should actually be. Note I have tried installing the UConnect version where my Epic version is as mods have suggested in the past (posts from 2018) and that didnt work. I've also seen mods drag out conversations by asking "Do you see 2 of the game in your install manager?" and that isn't the point of this AT ALL. The issue is that we bought your game(s) on another platform because yours simply isn't necessary in the slightest. Honestly Epic isn't either but they have some hard to refuse deals, one of which lead me to buying Wildlands on there. The issue is that your game is taking up TWICE THE AMOUNT OF SPACE IT SHOULD. Clearly this has been an issue for at least 3 years now across your games because of the need for the UConnect launcher. So my big overall question is that why does this game inflate it's size so grossly for seemingly no reason? Also why hasn't this ever been fixed or addressed? It's clearly a concern for players so why have they been only given a very robotic response to this? If you are a mod or someone from Ubisoft please DO NOT reply with questions about if I see two copies of it in my installation manager. That is NOT the issue and has nothing to do with it, it's deflecting because you don't know the answer. If you don't know why then reply with "I do not know why this happens". I do not want half baked answers leading me away from my own question.

Hello! Thank you for reporting this to us.

I don't know for sure why this happens I'm afraid. It doesn't appear to affect all players, as we don't receive many reports of this behaviour from players.

I'll make our team aware that this issue still occurs. In the meantime, these 2 suggestions have been known to work for players -

    1. Only install the game through the Ubisoft Connect launcher.

    OR

    2. After installing the game through the Epic Games Launcher, use the "Locate installed game" function in Ubisoft Connect and direct it to the installed game.

Apologies for the lack of clarity on this issue; I hope these steps help you.
