If you start to investigate realism, you will soon realize how limited a hero roaster can be. Nothing would beat a Lawbringer, until firearms were invented, that armor made them semi-immortal, the only way to kill them was to tackle them and stab their visors with specifically made daggers. The difference is kinda like current weapons vs WWI weapons against any Samurai.

Also, rougish heroes, barbarian heroes would never work, they are a fantasy thing, nobody went into battle like that (more than once).

Accordingly. Especially because Centurions, Knights, Shaolins, nothing coexisted at the same time. And even within the Knights, Lawbringer's armor touches the era of Full Plate armor, and the Gryphon of the Lamellar species that came years later to try to give more mobility to soldiers.

Armor like Lawbringer's in icy territories became a nightmare for the wearer, in addition to the fact that he had limited mobility.

And we can go on an on with historical details...

But I agree with you on what you said. And as I mentioned earlier, I accept a certain lack of realism, because even in historical games, nothing can be exact to the details.

And if it were too precise with reality, half of the movements might not be possible.
Because in reality fights between armored knights could go on and on and sometimes won from exhaustion rather than injury.

Conqueror's weapon, nor is there any evidence of how it was used in medieval times. Historians claim it to be a myth, and continue to claim that the Maces used were long-handled without chain.

That chain thing generates significantly less force than a normal mace. Might have been farming tool, or for showing off.

And it really was a Farming Tool.
In Portugal, there was the case of the "Mangual", which was an agricultural tool with a long handle with a small chain connected to another small cable that consisted of threshing the cereals to thresh them. In wartime, feudal lords sent their servants to war, and the small handle of this agricultural tool was replaced by a ball of thorns that was attached to the small chain. And ironically, it proved to be quite effective in the fight against the Moors and Kingdom of Castile.

Outside of this subject, I am convinced that there has to be a certain balance between fantasy and realism, and with that balance, it makes things more captivating in the game.

    I'm a Dreamer...
I still believe that in a way, a Spartan or Russian Boyar character could arise for the Knights, a Varangian Guard of the Byzantine Empire for the Vikings ...
Or until they can add a gender male for Warmonger and Valkyrie (nothing against the female gender).

Or until they can diversify the Gears of the Heroes, allowing several different skins from the initial model. I don't care about having 10 hats for the aramusha when they just differ in color, or because there is one that have one more feather to the left or right or whatever ... I think that less gear with more quality is better, than more gear quantity without meaning. Whats the point of having similar tons of gear on Jormungandr if you dont like him bare foot?!

If it was a peasant thing, it is not bad for conq, but it really is a fantasy weapon. In fantasy, armor is paper, so anything works there.

I like the diverse cast, even though I favour the more grounded designs over Shaman. It would have been interesting to keep it like it was in the first trailer, but that would be a different game.

Yes it was a fantasy weapon. Flail, like Conqueror, is the one that historians deny existence. So much so that there is not even one exhibited in a museum.

The "Mangual" that I mentioned, has a long shaft cable like Raiders Axe, with 2 or 3 chain rings on the top and connected to another small cable, which was sometimes replaced by a ball of thorns, or even another small metal cable. But it has nothing to do with the Conqueror Flail presented in the game with a short cable and a long chain.
