    Loot Since TU12 (its disgraceful)

The first drop I received after the Tu12 update shocked me. It literally looked like a level 30 drop stat wise. Loot was definitely changed, and the hope for any good drop ever since was thrown out the window.

My buddy and I messaged each other almost at the same time about it. We used to run heroic world setting but now we don't even bother. No matter what you run, and how many directives, all the loot is junk, even on legendary.

It's obvious to me that the optimization station being put in the game was probably the reason for the change. But even with that, there is not even a piece I find that's ever worth optimizing. (even after the nerf, that stuff is way too expensive...shd recal)

Before Tu12, I would say the drops were decent and getting good loot wasn't impossible. I put plenty of hours in and am able to put in sessions that go beyond the average, and to still not be getting anything worth anything is more than discouraging.

Some friends came to the game as new players and for the them to get anything decent now is a joke. We play together and I try to help but the loot is just not there. And in a game that revolves around looting and making builds with the loot, this makes it a bad experience and discourages them to stick with it. You can't expect players to be satisfied with getting junk every play session. And the fun of looting just isn't there.

Other than a post here and a few comments on youtube videos, I'm not too surprised that not too many players voiced this, as new players wouldn't know any difference and older players have all they want, and it happening at a time where the game has beet slow, makes sense, But I came back to the game about a month before TU12 and to me it's more than obvious.

I hope things change next season, but with no one pushing for it or even talking about it, how can it? If you agree and it's making your favorite game suck now, then say something.

I mena we have pretty much someone asking every week if loot was changed and that they are 100% sure that loot is worse, every time we ask how they are sure they just say they know and never explain anything, could you show what are these magically lower rolls you are talking about? because a lot of is RNG adn heroic as well as legendary does have a minimum and most of the time people are still getting inside the difficulty range

Ok...so this topic comes up fairly often, and it's almost always debunked or determined to be a matter of unrealistic expectations and perception.

What do you consider to be junk? What do you consider to be good? Because if you expect perfectly rolled items all the time, then you're in the wrong genre. Looters are all about sifting through a sea of random to find something usable.

I find this difficult to believe considering I've personally found countless items even on HARD that are worth optimizing. Perhaps there's some fundamental disconnect or misunderstanding of how the loot system works. Who knows? But you'll need to explain your point of view further before we can determine what's going on here.

I'm not saying this to trash talk, only that my experience across hundreds of hours in the game after TU12 shows me something VERY different than what you're describing.

You imply that getting decent/good drops are impossible after TU12. But again, I have to disagree. I've gotten literal god rolled drops as low as hard(God Roll = max attributes with the right talent). Granted, it's very rare. But "impossible" is a very extreme term.

You're saying that it's a joke to get anything decent. So let me ask again: What do you consider to be "decent" gear? I've got a video from a couple months ago showing how even unoptimized purple gear can quickly(~12 minutes) and easily clear level 4 control points on heroic world setting. If I can do that level of content with such bad gear, then the concept of what constitutes "decent" gear is highly subjective.

So it comes back to what you seem to think qualifies as "decent" or "good" gear. I see this problem a lot: Where players think that anything that isn't perfectly rolled isn't worth using. And that's simply not true. If you want to solo legendary maybe you need perfect gear in all slots, but if you're a team player you can do legendary with fairly low SHD and only a little bit of work to make a proper build.

Can you maybe give us a bit more detail and what you're seeing when you get drops? What level you're operating at? What build you're using? And mostly....what you EXPECT to get?

After the TU 12 update, the title of the game should change to Garbage Collector 2.

I've gotten full gRoll drops on Hard since TU12 - so my anecdata cancels your anecdata?

I will say in my recently limited playing experience since Outriders launched, that when I do play, I feel as though I see more rainbows than I did when I migrated away from the game. I would not say that something was "changed" under the hood, but as far as roll quality, it still seems to be good for me at least. I find several pieces every time I log in to the game it seems like that I have a hard time keeping cause I'm already at 149/150 or something like that.

Is my sample size too small, or has anyone else gotten the impression that while the general loot pool is just as much trash in the DZ as the rest of the game, higher-score mods seem to drop at a slightly better rate? I've only been back in the past few weeks so it might just be RNG again, but I've had several good mods drop while they almost never do in open world / missions.

Of course there's the DZ-only pieces that only drop there, but so far I am not terribly impressed with the unusual combos or talents there. I've had several Hollow Man masks, but what exactly is this piece intended for? I couldn't see a use, so deconstruct.

I did keep one of The Gift, but not sure what use I'll make of it either. Perfect Vigilance might be helpful with a skill build (I guess)??

Hollowman is great for DZ builds or fighting Black Tusk [extra Damage to Health, and/or one piece Yaahl for HzP].

The Gift is mainly geared toward Crit/Rifle, Sniping, or Offensive Shield builds.

The DZ, I believe, is Challenging Loot [was initially Heroic, but then was nerfed]. I think.. but yes, most of the loot quality there is disappointing outside of the exclusive Named Items and Exotics. Find some real gems occasionally though.

I have the same "problem". I play D2 about 7-8 months and the loot is - trash... I played about 1200 hours.
