Im in the tier score part now, first play through of the game.
After completing story, and done the first strongsholds, all gear drops seems to be gone in the game, why is that? even world chests have been limited it seems.
I get the idea to raise gear score, but how can you do that, when the gear that drops are under you lowest gear score you have equipped, in my world it dosnt make any sense.
Im about to do the stronghold second time, In this tier i havent got one single upgrade in score with all the quests to unlock strongholds.
I guess the game will be very boring fast when you spend hours on missions without any progress on gear, it cant keep me going for sure.
At world tier 5, level 30, you're at the old end-game l that was designed to keep you playing and hunting gear. As such a lot of the drops are intentionally random within a range of something like 480-515.
If yoy want to upgrade your gear you need to understand a few things:
1) Gearscore is meaningles at that point. Instead what you want to focus on is getting the correct core and secondary attributes combined with the right talents.
2) You do not need perfect drops to be powerful.
3) You should decide if you want to stay at WT5, or go to the WONY expansion.
4) World chests reset once per day. Control Point chests once per week. World chests are designed to have weak drops. You can still get lucky and get something good, but usually it'll be scrap. Control points depends on the level(1 through 4) of the CP.
Now...if you haven't even reached World Tier 5 yet, then you should not be focusing on improving your gear, but instead on progressing through the strongholds to WT5.
Welcome to looter shooters. Most drops will be crap. You have to sift through an ocran of garbage to find the quality gear. That's the game.
Ty for the answersm I just entered world tier 5, so gonna see how it goes, ill just keep farming for some gear sets then, Ill focus on stats versus sniper and assault riffel, headshot damage since im a sharshooter. The end game is confusing at first look, but ill get the hang of it i guess.
If you're seeing gear crates but they're either already opened or you can't open them, that's most likely because they've not reset since they were last opened, as Sircowdog1 points out. But I don't think that there are any crates that don't reset within 24 hours. If you're seeing something else, perhaps you can explain exactly what you mean by "all gear drops seem to be gone." You mean that the crates aren't even there?Originally Posted by johnolesen Go to original post
From what I've read, it appears that older versions of the game changed the quality of the items that dropped based on gear scores from your inventory and stash. This is no longer true; in both end games (level 30 and 40) item quality is based only on the difficulty level (at least as far as I've seen). Since the open world in the level 30 ("world tier") end game is always "Normal" difficulty, you'll rarely get good loot from open world chests. If you replay a mission at a higher difficulty level, or push a control point up to a higher level, you'll get better loot from the enemies and crates in that mission or the main crate in the control point.I get the idea to raise gear score, but how can you do that, when the gear that drops are under you lowest gear score you have equipped...
When you're considering the value of an item, remember that you can recalibrate the talent or one of the attributes on it. So a holster with only one imperfect attribute is effectively as good as a god roll (assuming you've been building your recalibration library).
