Thank you all for your comments. I tried Roosvelt Island last night with Empress 3 piece, Wyvern chest + unbreakable, Memento and Golan knees = 1.2 mil amour plus regen. It is a skill build with drone and turret. It still took me 4 hours to reach the end boss fight - only for the end part to be empty of enemies - therefore, I had to abandon the mission. On restart I was constantly shedded. Employing the same tactics and build did nothing to stop the large swam of attackers with dogs, exploding drones and mini tanks hitting me. At the beginning area I was attacked by at least 3 waves of 15 and it didn't get any better the further I progressed. After the 3 attempt, I gave up :-)
I miss those heroic missions. There were more than 10 and I've done most of them solo prior to the change... Now, after renaming it to Legendary, we have only 3 to play...Originally Posted by DutchLMB4ever Go to original post
Definitely possible. You just have to understand the rules and types of enemies. They all put out insane damage and have higher health and armor. Your build will need to rely on cover yet put out a high amount of damage yourself. Survivability relies on being able to reduce the enemies fast before they can surround and gank you. This thread is filled with builds and strategies. Plenty of videos on YouTube of players doing it. Helps if you can hit headshots, but it's not necessary as long as your DPS is high. I like doing Legendary mission solo runs because you have to be very precise and efficient in how you work each room.Originally Posted by Aced_100 Go to original post
Doable but I wouldn't call it fun. I breach the opening map using a Mantis/Headhunter build then the next map I use an ND LMG build, the next three I used a turret/drone build (I didn't bother with all that 1.1m, regen stuff and I didn't have momento at the time) and at one point I found myself wearing an FI build for whatever reasoning I was using at the time. It just wasn't that much fun for me and once I knew that I could probably get through it I stopped a couple of maps short of the end. Just not fun going through all that pain solo.
I am not completely convinced of this. While I suspect that many of them have cheated in some way via damage buffs or aimbots or something of the kind, I've played enough to recognize that the placement and positions shown in some of the legendary runs are the result of countless hours of practice.Originally Posted by vm4M9Tz4pB Go to original post
And even if they did cheat in a particular run, the philosophy and method they're displaying is a sound foundation.
What you have to remember is that youtube vids are always a highlight reel. The best of the best to put on display, and not the countless failures that were recorded but never uploaded. So It's not surprising that it might look like cheating when it's so clean.
For me, it took a large number of hours before I managed mine first legendary missions solo. and now everything goes on routine. you learn where they spawn. And I mostly play with neogiators dilemma and AR with focus. And now i mostly training legendary with smg hunters fury. And I spend an average of 2-3 hours a day practicing legendary
