It's worth noting that while (I'm pretty sure) enemy health and damage scale with your group size, enemy numbers don't (not sure about the summit?), so in that sense the difficulty is definitely a lot higher for solo players.
For DPS builds, Focus works well because of the synergy with the scope & shield exploit which lets you 'peek' around the right side of cover and shoot without enemies being able to return fire. Negotiators Dilemma makes it way easier to bring down those annoying mini-tank controllers and drone operators that like to stay hidden, you only have to tag them once then you can focus on the more visible enemies.

I've said before and say again..... way to big of a gap between heroic and legendary in terms of difficulty.

It should not happen where I can play solo heroic an entire night, completing daily projects and such, and not wipe..... and not even make it into the building on legendary.

Yes, I am sure if I really wanted to, I could cheese it.... or use a specific build, etc. I could also manage to live with a rattlesnake if I really had to, but why would I want to do that?

Now, I am not saying make heroic harder, or make legendary easier. I know that would destroy the game for many.

But there needs to be gear injected into the game that can bring legendary within reach.

Very true. There is a huge gap. This gap used to be smaller when the different difficulty levels still were a bit closer back when WoNY dropped. Personally, I feel that the very first scaling of heroic missions (when only invaded missions offered this difficulty setting) would fit perfectly in between the current state of heroic content and the legendary missions. That was a lot of fun!

But well, it was too difficult for some people so heroic difficulty got nerfed into the ground to what now basically is a "hard" mode. Thus of course there is no real transition from this "hard" mode to legendary. But at least also legendary missions were made accessible for everyone – by toning down their difficulty and by overpowering the drone/turret-skill-builds. Yes, they still are not a walk in the park for rather unexperienced agents, but they are doable. And they are far away from what they were intended to be (the ultimate challenge for the top 1% of the playerbase to give them replayable hardcore endgame content).

I personally don't see the point, from what i have seen, the rewards do not match up to the challenge of the difficulty settings.....its just challenging for challenge sake and therefore pointless.

It is just for the challenge, in a group you get the same doo doo loot indeed.
And you don't do stuff like this solo for the loot.
You do it when you already have the loot and want to challenge yourself.

For me it took more time thinking and doubting on what to do then the action itself.
I'm gonna try it again tomorrow same way and see if I can do it faster.
I 100% will because I had a phone call and sending screenshots of the next doors/parts to people that said I couldn't do it. Lol
Today I completed it in 1 hour and 9 min.

I'm gonna be honest for everyone that liked the Heroic missions back when heroic missions were hard to do solo.
This is the way to challenge yourself now.
    It's the same thing.

Personally I kind of wish they didn't even do normal drops from Legendary. I know why they did it though. Because if there was any sort of special loot system from legendary, it would become the only thing that people would ever want to do. And it's already bad enough that people bottom feed for carries in legendary. How much worse would it be if Legendary had a special loot system that was better than anywhere else?

And if they went the opposite direction, and made it only cosmetic, then people would do it once and never return.

Without completely overhauling access to higher difficulties, really the only option was to have just another layer of the existing loot system.

I'd do 100 legendary solo clears if it meant I could get Regulus without needing to raid.

Mind if I ask what build you used to solo it (legendary DUA)?
