Hi everyone,
I started playing Far Cry 5 again as a New Game+ but I can only equip weapons in slot 2 and 3.
If I go to a store, select a weapon and assign it slot 1 and exit the shop, the weapon will be equiped on the character - but if I equip a different weapon slot, it will disappear.
It seems like slot 1 and 4 is completely bugged. I have all perks related to holding extra weapons.

Sorry to hear that you are unable to assign weapons.
Can you please verify your game files with this link? This will eliminate any potentially corrupted files that can lead to this issue.

Thank you for getting back to me, I appreciate it.
I verified the game files and eveything turned out just fine.
Quick facts
1) I completed the game
2) I began a New Game+
3) I can equip weapons to both slot 1 and 4 but the slot is empty in the weapon wheel
3b) the weapon disappears if I pick up or switch to a different weapon
4) I tried to pick up an enemy's pistol to see if it would overwrite something that might be hidden/equipped behind the weapon slot, but without success
5) I haven't played Co-op
I've read online that a full restart of the game could help but I'm not interested in losing all my progression and starting over.

I have checked and the dev team are aware of this issue and it is under investigation. A full restart of the game may help but this is up to you.
In regard to the church bug I have reported this to them along with the video you have provided. Once there is an update we will reach out.

Unfortunately I can judge by your response that the bug will not go from your backlog to release cycle anytime soon. From what I can see, the game haven't receive an update in a very, very long time so I guess the only option is to reset all progress and start all over.
I might pick up the game again some other day in the future and do a fresh start but for now, I'll uninstall and find a different game.
