IMO, Hyperscape resembled a lot those popular games, got a bit from all of them, yet it was not enough.
Forcing The Division in that direction will let both sides, the Div fans and the popular games fans disappointed.
The Div strength comes from the fact that it is in a league of its own. Ubi should have built on that.

Because anyone with that type of time investment clearly values their account and wouldn't want to be banned from playing the IP.

Must agree with OP, it's not on people leak this information and/or upload content even if it wasn't from their access to the alpha... at least it's private now pixel... lol

If that means that Ubi can have the devs of Division 2 and presumably 3, focus on the strengths of the franchise and abandon the weak points, I'm all for it. Two divided games would be best. Then both sides get a mode that is the focus of the team, being a stand alone game.

It's always been my understanding that the reason why alpha/beta is kept secret is because the community and media at large will judge the quality of the product unfairly based on what they see now vs what the final product actually is.

Which is hilarious considering that the gaming industry will sell you on a product based on misleading trailers and "in-game footage" instead of actual real gameplay performed by real gamers instead of actors.

The entire thing is one big fat sack of mistrust and dishonesty from both sides.

And yet on The Division we had this(pre-launch or not it's been done before.) So it can be done and really should be done.

That's sick!!! I never knew that (wasn't around in the Div 1 days). It would be so awesome if it did come to console, but I won't hold my breathe given how rarely that seems to happen now.

Now you got me holding out hope again... LOL

    Totally with you there.

They had PTS on Battlefield 4 on Console's i used to play and test on them.

So yeah they can be done but it has to be a partnership between the Devs of the game and the makers of the console's

It all felt a bit like an experiment, and not a positive one at that. The proces to push an update on the Microsoft and Sony consoles is very time consuming, and that's not convenient during a test phase. It's near impossible to make quick adjustments, so I don't see tests coming back to console any time soon, at least not from Ubisoft.
