Not related but.......Never understood the anger behind leaks, if someone wants to see it search for it and watch it, if you like to be surprised then don't search for it or click on anything related to it.
At the end of the day you either like what you see or you don't, no different when buying a new game.
I think the anger comes from the fact that it was complete betrayal of the gaming community. When someone invites you into their circle of trust, you behave accordingly. But, someone somewhere decided "I can get a few hundred thousand views on my youtube channel, so F that I'm doing it!"Originally Posted by Riflemania Go to original post
The youtubers in general are not viewed extremely positively in the gaming community. Because they pay games for ad revenue, and that is always going to be their priority, and delivering something of value to the gaming community will always take a back burner.
We've seen youtubers who show people how to cheat, etc. and plenty of youtubers that condoned it. Now this.
And as a result, we can't talk about anything in here related to the upcoming game.
If it were up to me, the selection criteria would be based on a combination of number of Ubisoft titles owned, number of hours played across them all, with time in The Division games being especially important, and I would want to see each person considered be a positive contributor in the forums -- especially those that have taken time to submit good bug reports with video evidence.
It should not have been hard to find the right people, and they failed miserably.
Maybe it's just me and think life is too short to worry about stuff like that.Originally Posted by tcarlisle2012 Go to original post
I myself would of preferred Ubi to say "We have a new expansion coming called Heartlands and here is what it is...etc etc" instead of all this secrecy.
I mean we all seen the leaks or most of us have.Originally Posted by III_Hammer_III Go to original post
3 games later the beta still has bullets hitting npc's 13seconds after firing.
How??
Just put in div 1's update 1.8 or div 2's TU whatever.
And build the alpha/beta from there.
That's the only reason I can think of for why they have to keep it top secret.
Because it (again) doesn't work from start.
To be fair, that footage was taken on a potato computer, very bad internet connection, by someone who had no idea what they were doing.
Also, probably taken first day when there were server problems.
Personally, I was more interested in what kind of game it is and the setting / map. The other stuff is not relevant at this point.
I think for the type of game it is, you would want a good cross section of players from the Div community along with those who play (how do I say this, without saying this) "games of a popular genre, that rumors say Heartland may resemble".
I don't think you need to hunt down TimtheTatMan to play this alpha, but someone who is familiar with games of that genre would be smart to get input from outside the Div community.
Highly doubt there will be any type of pre-launch public testing on console. In the past all tests like this have been PC only (from my knowledge) on the PTS.Originally Posted by edmondsurfer Go to original post
