After seeing the leaked heartland footage, I have a feeling that this new free to play game is going to be alot like another F2P game, Vigor. - Vigor is a scavenging game with battle royale PVP (darkzone ) elements. You have a house (base of operations) that you can upgrade. You can craft weapons and supplies if you have the blueprint and resources to craft them. You then enter a map, spawning in a random zone with other players and can freely run around looting boxes, house etc for resouces. There are exit (extraction) points around the map that you can go to and allow you to leave the map at anytime. There are other players running around that can kill you and steal your stuff, leaving you with nothing (DZ). The game game has a basic free & paid battle pass that allows you to unlock cosmetics and loot boxes as you increase in XP and level up. So I reakon Hearlands is going to be like Vigor but with a Division Skin.

I feel like Vigor is an okay game, just doesnt have a very rewarding hook to make you play it over and over, so maybe Heartlands might be able to do better. Anyway, im keen to try it and see what its like.

"Hood" like games, starting to see more of them, seem to be the new "Zombies". The new "It" game type.

True! I once played what I think was either an Alpha or Beta of Vigor but I totally forgot about that game. Guess why... but thank you for bringing it back into my mind!

Yes, Vigor indeed didn't feel that bad, though I never had much sympathies for games that include ganking as a game mechanic. It seems like it's always a bit difficult to implement PvEvP as a winning combination. Though I like the tension of having other players roaming the same world, I strongly dislike that camping exit gates, extraction points, mission objectives, or whatever is being rewarded and fostered. Hood includes pretty much the same concept, why it's rather a "Nope." to me.
