dekkerbasser: Hey there and welcome to the forums! Sorry for the difficulties you have been seeing in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. To help remedy the error you are getting in-game, I would first recommend completing our Connectivity Guide here. If the issue persists, I would recommend doing a password reset on your Ubisoft account and then speaking to the trader again. Let us know if any of these steps help!

Network settings are fine seeing how this happens about half the time.

    Still an issue.

Also, after a while of playing my map was no longer available. Said "World map is unavailable" or when I go to the menu to see the world map it says "Menu not available". I had to load a game from 3 hours prior. Googling didnt bring up much other than other people experiencing it and getting no relief or patch.

This is my first AC game and likely my last Ubisoft game seeing how many bugs there are...and it's been over 6 months since release.

Anyway, thanks for your suggestions but they didnt help.

I understand that it's not happening all the time, but were you able to forward your ports from the connectivity guide though? Having open ports will ensure that there are no interruptions happening between the online services and your network at any time. Can you let me know if you're receiving the "World map unavailable" or "Menu not available" on Quick Resume of your save?

I dont block block egress traffic on my firewall.

The "world map unavailable" was related to a quest that I went astray from so that is no longer an issue.

Ah, okay. Thanks for clarifying about the map, and my apologies for the delay. Are you still receiving the error code: 0x7000041 when you speak to traders outside your settlement?

No worries about delay at all.

    Yeah, it still happens unfortunately.

I'm sorry to hear this, dekkerbasser, if you have exhausted all steps from our Connectivity Guide previously shared, could you confirm if you tried the port configurations steps recently? If so, could you possibly Send Me A Private Message with an image of your port configuration so I can share this with our game team to further investigate?

    If it isnt fixed....

On what platform are you playing? I found out that on the next-gen consoles the quick resume option gives this error. If you play the game a bit or day later it thinks the day stood still. Creating an error with the server of ubisoft. Completely closing te game off (also the quick resume state) fixed this. Once you boot the game backup you should be reconnected to the servers and the store and other functions should be accesible.

Heya Ice_dilla_nl. You are correct in that this error code sometimes comes from the situation you describe. I appreciate you providing this workaround for dekkerbasser should they be using a next-gen console!
