I really should of put in the header (For Solo Play)......I dunno, just swap out the specializations weapons for something more useful, or just make them more viable.

Right now they seem to be a waste of space......maybe not for all but i bet a large majority they are.

When i played i was solo 100% of the time, never needed a reviver hive, as for the spec weapons some are crap some are very good.

I have/had a build made around the Flamethrower and thats all i use with it and its a blast, the crossbow is an Armour breaker, the minigun with a full on armour build isn't too bad either. the rest need buffing (i doubt it'll happen though)

As i said before nope i'll never swap out the spec weapons i use for something i never use.

I play solo & never used one ( though there was times I could have ) Yea the Spec weapons are clunky & some under powered so I try to adjust. That TAC 50 makes it look my agent is carrying a Howitzer! On long shots everything is wired to the aim click, enemy ducks, screen shake etc. That can happen with any weapon but it is magnified with the tac 50 so I seldom use it. Even so I doubt I would use a Revive hive.

What they could do though ( and it might be just a useful) is equip agents with a game crash hive) I mean that'll get you just as dead as a poorly designed weapon! lol

Actually, I find the Technician's rocket launcher to be pretty decent. Against non-named Elites it's pretty effective, so long as you can get a lock. The most annoying thing about it is that it's got a hard limit on range of 60 m (it won't fire without locking, and won't lock beyond 60 m), but I'm not sure that's such a bad thing as far as game balance goes.

I agree. They are a bit of a novelty. I honestly wish I could unequip it.

Given I can’t, I’ve learned how to use the TAC-50 to start a fight by lining up a couple of tougher enemies but it’s rarely much better than using my rifle.

I don’t use revive hives so that wouldn’t benefit me either.

They really should have just made the special weapon an exotic that you can use (or not) like any other exotic.

If I ever start a new character, I would strongly consider not picking a specialization.

Bring it back to the days where I could one tap the Bosses head with Tac-50... Again, the weapons just need a difficultly scaling. They can keep the boss nerf, just buff them all with difficulty.

If i remember correctly most of that time was in challenge mode, it's only of late you switched to heroic and even then you run around with zillions of armor

Anyway, this post was not about who plays the game without it, i mean i run around with glass cannon but i still don't use the specialization weapons because of them being lackluster.....don't even want to talk about the stupid animation.

Point is a vast majority of solo players run around with the reviver hive but very little use the specialization weapons.

Don't get me wrong they might have their uses but overall they are a waste of pixels and just a gimmick as it stands right now.

Solo you don't have much choice to use the reviver, you are on your own and the odds against you are too high.

Even being careful you can be outflanked and go down in seconds.

Specialisation weapons - you are right, they are mostly toilet and I am just finishing the last crossbow challenge so I have had to use them all.

Crossbow and missiles are of use as they can target minigun emplacements/elites, nade launcher is okish but not great, minigun is pretty ineffectual outside of the challenge and the sniper rifle is plain meh.

You can't really compare them, the reviver is crucial, the others weapons are generally of no use and are superseded by skills.

    Strongly disagree.

Granted, the nade launcher takes some getting used to, but once you master it you can do some pretty ridiculous things with it. Bouncing shots off walls/ceilings to land indirect shots is damn useful.

Now...against a chunga it's not great. But nothing except direct precision bullet fire is...so it's not like the nade launcher is any weaker than other attacks in that regard.
