In the interest of added immersion I wish there was an option to turn off the orange glow on loot. Particularly useless loot, but even good gear and weapon crates could do without the glow. They are easily identified at a glance simply based on their shape after the first few hours in the game.
There’s also a ton of suitcases and backpacks everywhere with trinkets in them. Why? It seems to clutter the world with unnecessary attention grabbing “look at my orange glow” that makes you jog past while hitting the loot button only to instantly regret it. I now ignore all this glowing stuff, as well as the small gift boxes and tool boxes full of ceramics, metal, etc. I’m perpetually maxed out, and leaving more immersion killing loot flags in my wake. Does anyone actually run out of crafting resources ever? Maybe I should be crafting a lot more. I don’t know. But the glow is unnecessary.
In general, the game would benefit from more HUD options, like turning health bars and hit markers off for a more immersive experience.
they should just add an immersive mode like Ghost Recon did. but actually if you read up on some of the lore you'll find out that all agents are equipped with high-tech contact lenses that provide intel on the agent's surroundings, so it kind of is immersive if you think about it like that. I just wish that they would tell you stuff like that in-game.
there is no excuse for the world loot tho. In div 1 they got world loot right. nothing felt out of place and everything made sense. most of the things you could loot in that game were in the places where they should be and you found things that should be in there like finding a piece of clothing in a dresser or some water in the fridge. In div 2 they still do some of that, like you can find soda in vending machines and water in fridges but there are also a bunch of random loot boxes and bags around the world that look really out of place. It just comes off as lazy.
The division is a Tom Clancy game, the focus should be on maintaining a certain level of realism and immersion unless it really hurts the overall experience and gameplay.
I just ignore the glow like some other things in the game & yes I run out of resources. I go out daily. In a few I will be going out to Solar Farm & the area for metals, ceramics etc. Crafting,Upgrading & Optimizing weapons & gear takes a lot of resources. I'm not sure where your at, game related but good gear requires farming or exceptional rng.Virtual-Chris

I've been doing the Level 40 endgame for a couple of weeks now and settled in on a decent red build with a few named items... a chest piece, a backpack, and some knee pads. The problem is, the gear I'm using to assemble my build allows me to change one attribute. So I maybe recalibrate that attribute every few sessions when a piece of gear drops with a better roll. Optimization seems like a waste of time... it's not worth my time for 0.1% and where I'm short on that, is stuff from deconstructing gear, not resources found in the world. Right? What am I not doing that I should?Originally Posted by Rodnaz Go to original post
I'd run out of crafting resources all the time. I do a lot of recalibrations when testing new builds and I am always crafting optimization mats when I max out printer filaments. I also occasionally go on gear crafting binges.
Most people though, don't. Not sure if there is an option to turn it off.
As for Optimization, you're looking at 5-10 hours per tier, so it only really makes sense to push a 85%+ rolled item. Or stockpile Mats while trying to find a better piece and if you hit cap before a better drop, then optimize the piece you have.
LOL. I understood about 50% of that. I guess that’s my problem.Originally Posted by LateNiteDelight Go to original post
What’s an optimization mat?
Optimization Materials - what you use for Optimizing your gear. You can get blueprints by clearing Level 3 or 4 Control Points. You can then use the regular materials to craft optimization materials.Originally Posted by Virtual-Chris Go to original post
Though it might take you a while to get all the blueprints.
Perhaps the Weekly SHD Request projects?Originally Posted by Virtual-Chris Go to original post
If all you ever want to do is run a single build, then yes, a lot of the materials are going to go to waste. You'll never need to pick anything up out of crates. You can survive off whatever drops from enemies and scrapped gear that you don't want.
But once you start trying to optimize and assemble multiple builds, or dump mats into crafting improvised pieces, then your mats will sometimes run dry.
Honestly it's up to you. You could always just ignore mats and pickups entirely, and survive solely off the SHD watch scavenging levels if you want to stick to one build.
Or you can go crazy and assemble 12 different builds for every possible playstyle or encounter.
I see... that makes sense. I'm still running my first and only build of course.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
It would still be nice to have more control over the HUD for immersion purposes.
