It sure would be nice to have a second way of backing up even if its 96 hrs apart.

Is there any way to copy and paste the game saves from time to time in a backup folder separate from the game then delete and paste as another way to save?
So basically if you want to back up your game you need to go into C: Program Files X86 / Ubisoft / Game Launcher / Savegames (then a long alphanumeric number representing your ... user ID or whatever) and you'll find a 1771 or 3559 folder in there- depending on if you were ubisoft connect or Steam when you bought the game.

If you back up that 1771 folder that will provide you with that backup. Turn off syncing in ubisoft connect on both your home and laptop computer... This way you can just save the 1771 files you make to a thumb drive and just transfer it over between your computers.

    That's what I'd do, anyway-

But be aware it saves all your characters in all game modes- so let's say that you go a certain distance on ghost mode, then go a different distance on your normal campaign... then you go farther on one than the other and try to restore- it'll restore ALL your characters to that point in time. Probably irrelevant since you'd just save each character at certain points of significance- and each save you back up will save all of them in that moment of time- but it's A thing that you may encounter.

    Ok Cool
My grw is on a ssd away from the os drive and have seen the 1771 file you are talking about.
I got tired of reinstalling everything on c drive when bad things happen to c drive.
Now if c goes bad the games is on a different drive and is safe.

Thank You soo much for your Time and Help!!!!

Thanks for the updates on this, folks.

@ crosslhs82 - were you able to recover your save?

    Hey
    Ubi-Redbeard
Sorry for a very late Reply!!!!!
No I didn't get all of everything back.
But have regained those lost items and check points of the game by just replaying missions and Reaquiring those items.
