Droprate assault rifles in base game/leveling up

Started a new campaign with a new PSN. On level 14 now, had one (as in 1 !!!) assault rifle drop until now from all sources. If White House vendor did not have an AK on sell I wouldn't have had an AR since hittin' lvl4. What is this, playin' a shooter but the RNG has been instructed to not give me(or us) to guns I (or we) like to use to the most?
Been playin' for over 2k hours, 4 lvl40 characters, on my 1st PSN but really can't remember it was this ****ty.
Common Ubi, tweak a little bit on that AR droprate, cuz this is absolutely ridiculous!!!
Thanx for hearin' out my rant.

    1. It's not suggestion/feedback
    2. It's RNG
    3. Farm AR targeted if you want AR so much

Targeted loot isn't available while leveling. But yes it's RNG.

I've found that a lot of shotguns and rifles drop for me most times, but ARs are pretty common as well. And if you don't want to mess with RNG you can check the vendors at the White House and settlements.

I know about targeted loot my friend,
but like Sircowdog1 says, that's not available while playin' the base game.
And I know it's RNG, but no AR's and plenty of SMG's, LMG's, shotties, rifles, side-arms and even snipers.
    A little bit fishy....
    Aint it??

I sympathize with you. I just went through the levelling process and if it wasn't for the vendors, it would have been a very frustrating time. I don't know if it's my bad luck, but I have seen enough pump action and double barrel shotguns drop to outfit an army. It almost seems like a rigged slot machine. I think I have had one of my preferred rifles drop every 15 levels or so - and that's where I would spend a whole session just looting the world for guns and gear.

But if you think it's bad now... wait until you get to level 40. Trying to find a weapon you like with good rolls and or a talent you want is just ludicrous. In some ways, the amazing variety of weapons and gear in the game actually works against it. They really should enable you to work towards a blue print for your preferred weapon at least, so you can get that early on if you want, and just craft it every few levels from that point on. But most blueprints, if they even exist for your preferred weapons, are not available until way late in the end game. I'm now nearly 200 hours in and still haven't seen a blueprint for a MK17.

Now that you pointed it out... Haven't got a good AR in a month, even though I tried targeted loot and the summit.
    I'm running around with half-azzed C7 and M4...

God rolled loot doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned, I don't think I have ever got one piece that was god rolled, I keep any gear with one max attribute to examine later on to see if I could use it after recalibration/optimization.

Just came back from a break of about a year. Have 4 lvl40 characters on my first PSN.
Have more than 2k hours on that one and lots of choices off gear and weapons.
But been a lot of changes
    Wanted a fresh start,
so headed off with first Division storymode and now Div2 storymode, but first one is way better balanced on loot drop as weapons goes.
The suggestion you make about being able to level up your gear/or bleuprints from loot already acquired(and not only in endgame) is a nice one!
Once you've found a piece with specific specifications, you can acquire it's blueprint....craft it...and then still recalibrate one item.
    I would like that!

    But not really complainin'.
Vendor had an AK and has an Emeline's Guard now.
    So I am still alive.

You can get get 'god rolled loot' but only to the limits they have set. So, if you played before TU 10.1 (like I did) loot and god-rolls were better (realistic imo). Since then, loot has continually gone down.
