    Control Point challenge

Has anyone managed to complete the Control Point challenge for this GE?

I've tried it Hard, Challenging and Heroic. With and without the civilian aid. No matter what it seems there's too much of an element of RNG and at least one NPC won't reanimate, so I don't get credit.

Personally I think this challenge as written is bunk. If you do random NPCs in the streets it looks like there's about a 1 out of 3 chance their EAD won't revive them at all, and there's nothing we can do about that.

Navy Plaza using a Eclipse Protocol build and mortar turret. Chem launcher and mortar turret kills never headshot anyone. There's a flatbed truck on one side you can hunker behind during the attack phase.

Yeah, but like I said, if their EAD doesn't revive them none of that matters. The challenge clearly says "...and all hostiles re-animate..." and it seems there's a 1-in-3 chance they won't, no matter what you do or don't do.

No matter how I try it there's at least several that don't - even if I carefully avoid head-shotting any.

some bodies just get into weird positions after death and the game isnt able to revive them , seen this alot , never even tryed to the challenge though , the ones you do just by playing and not even thinking about plus leveling up are more than enough to reach the cap for the rewards.

To be clear, that's how I was able to complete the challenge on the first attempt. I didn't keep track of whether every NPC reanimated, but suspect they didn't - yet the challenge completed anyway.

Interesting. Perhaps you had a lot of luck. None for me, even after many attempts.

I don't mind most of them. Yeah, it requires changing up your play style a bit in some cases, but for me that's the appeal; it breaks up the monotony and forces you to try different things. Same reason I have so many totally different load outs.

In the end I ended up easily completing every one except two: the Control Point one (for reasons mentioned), and the one where you have to kill re-animated NPC using corrosive headshot damage. Doing the same on un-reanimated NPCs was super-easy, but in the case of doing it on reanimated ones they are so rarely close when they revive I was able to get up to 35, but not the requisite 50.

Try staying far away when killing them aim for legs or weak points use offensive skills such as clusters or Chen launcher firestarter but stay in the capture radius

BTW I forgot to mention: you must've been in Invaded mode?

I say this because NP was one of the points I tried, in normal mode, and it's Outcasts. The suicide bombers right off negate the possibility because they never revive.

Having said that, I focused on non-Outcast CPs and did MLK library just on Hard, and finally managed to get it. It may have helped that like two or three other groups of Hyenas wandered by and got in the fight, so the chances that any that didn't revive didn't originate from the CP was much higher.

That left all but one challenge I'll probably never finish.

Oh, is that why sometimes enemies I expect to resurrect, don't? I was wondering about that.

At any rate, I too completed this on the first attempt, at Hard difficulty on one of the control points in the Financial District. As others have pointed out, one important thing is to ensure you're not using any skills or self-guiding weapons that can perform a headshot, including ones that might not seem entirely obvious such as the Technician's explosive rockets. One thing you might try is reducing rather than increasing the difficulty; lower difficulty I find makes it easier to avoid errors and, in this case, make sure that you kill enemies before an NPC does.

That was one was slow for me, too; it was one of the last ones I completed. I think I made the best progress when I happened to quickly mow down down a group of enemies close together with body shots, and then got a headshot on a single one of the group as they started to revive. (You can headshot a reviving enemy even before they get up off the ground, and if you've got the angle to do this it's a lot easier than letting them get up and start moving their heads around.)
