I feel like something needs to be said. It is really starting to get annoying when lower SHD levels are joining legendary not geared up and not saying they are new and trying to wing it. I get that your new and there is some good gear that has the potential to drop for you but come on. Tell us your new cause I would rather know right from the started when I ask you then to sit there and keep wiping.
I feel legendary should be open to certain SHD levels only, sorry but yeah. Its should be for higher SHD level players. Some of us don't mind carrying but again be honest if you have never done it before.
stop blaming your teammates for how bad you are at the game. They probably didn't want to tell you that they're noobish out of fear of getting kicked by some elitist like you. just suck it up and carry em through or just leave so they can find someone who is actually good to help them.
SHD level does not showcase how well someone plays, but rather how long they've been playing.
Because if Legendary was only opened starting at certain higher SHD levels, and someone joins your session who does not play like how you expect a higher level SHD player should, aren't you going to be upset at that as well?
If someone uses a second character, he will know how to play and probably have some good backup gear despite low SHD level, what you want is just elitism and will piss people off, not every player will be ace if they have a high level, not everyone is also a bad player because they just reached a certain point in the game
On the other side of it, quite a few times when I have answered a call for back up I was put in a group with SHD levels way way higher than mine, in fact a while back just after I got my watch with SHD level of only 8 I was paired with someone that had a SHD level of nearly a 1000, it doesn't tell you if they are playing on hard, challenging, heroic or legendary, I think the system is to blame at times.
It's barely been even two weeks since we last discussed this in great detail on this thread.
Your feeling is wrong for various reasons, the biggest one being that SHD level is not in any way an indication of skill or ability at higher difficulty levels.
And as others have pointed out both here and there, when you're playing with random players you can expect that some will not be that great, and you should be prepared to carry them at least a bit if necessary. Saying the problem is your own lack of skill at carrying is probably going a bit far, but it's also exactly the gatekeeping approach you're proposing, just applied to your lack of skill rather than others'.
His second character will have the same SHD Level as his main character; SHD level is per-account, not per-character. (Or so I'm given to understand; I'm still a few hours away from finishing the WoNY campaign with a second character.)Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post
Having re-read your original post more carefully, you seem to be expressing a desire that folks say, "Hey, be aware that I'm new at this" when entering a group doing a Legendary mission. It's not clear if you want this just for information, or if you want these folks booted from your session, but you kind of imply the latter when you want to restrict who can join a Legendary mission based on SHD level.Originally Posted by GamerGirlL3xi Go to original post
You probably would have gotten a better reaction had you more carefully worded your post to make it clear that you're not trying to do gatekeeping here, if that was not your intent. Especially when we we recently spent two weeks discussing an explicit request for such gatekeeping.
You've also not addressed that SHD level is essentially completely independent of skill or gear quality; complaining about "insults on your game play" while not acknowledging and taking a correction on that is not likely to give people the impression that you really know what you're doing.
TLDR: Be aware of previous context and take care in writing your posts to avoid hints of trolling, and you'll get better (and more polite) responses.
As Tom Lehrer pointed out, this forum is "like a sewer. You get out of it what you put into it."
