Improving Warmonger’s Bash and Chain Heavies

Warmonger has arguably one of the worst variable bashes in the game, despite being able to feint it extremely late. She is not able to chain into her own bash. Once she lands it, the fight resets to neutral. While you can bash from neutral, it feels clunky having to dodge and guard break every time. Light is the only attack that enables her to access her bash making her too predictable. Everyone knows she will light to bash and will be waiting for it. To improve this, we can give her properties that other characters have.

Characters like Warden and Centurion have a bash that chain into itself and can access it from light and heavy. Warden is a unique case as he can access his bash from all of his attacks. If they were to implement this change to Warmonger, I wouldn't complain, but it's unnecessary. All Warmonger needs is the ability to chain into her own bash and access it through heavy.

Warmonger has pathetic chain heavies. Her light, light, heavy finisher is 900ms becoming uninterruptable at 600ms. Her light, heavy finisher is 100ms faster; 800ms becoming uninterruptable at 500ms. She has one of the slowest chain heavies with the hyper armor activating later than other heroes. This makes it an unreliable move for trading in 1's and in team fights. Again, we can look to other characters to improve this: Highlander and Warlord. Make all her chain heavies and hyper armor at the same speed: 700ms with hyper armor activating at 300ms--just like Warlord. With this change, she can reliably trade and interrupt attacks in 1's and team fights.

Warmonger is already a solid character, but these improvements will give more flow to her kit. Allowing her to chain into her bash, access it from a heavy, and having a faster chain heavy are the changes that she needs to make her feel like the menace she was meant to be.

Warmonger is a top 5 character, far stronger than Centurion. She has frame advantage on every succesful bash, has enchanced lights, a low stamina cost zone, and most importantly, a very good parry punish move. The hyperarmor on the heavy is only there to prevent people from interrupting it on reaction with a light attack, and you can still trade if you are creative and space well enough. She does not need any changes to her kit. Her feats are an other story.
