I reviewed 11 pages of posts and really did not see anyone bring this up, but it seems that loot quality has dropped significantly.
Let me explain -
I run 2 toons, one is lvl 30 world tier 5 and basically only do heroic missions. I play this toon specifically to max out the 1-30 recalibration library. It seems that ever since TU11.x(?) I stopped getting any drops that would upgrade the 1-30 recalibration library. This toon has probably about 300 of my close to 1200 hours of game play.
Things are a little better for my main (watch level 1133) which is missing just 2 attributes, one for rifle and one for pistol. And yes, I expect this to take time, but hey 800 hours?
Before TU11.x I used to get one or two 'god' rolled items a week, now it is maybe 1, more often none. And that is for both toons.
And to top that off, the number of rainbow rolled loot seems to have at least doubled. As example over a 10 floor legendary summit run, at least 20% of drops was a rainbow and useless. It's much worse on heroic.
Overall quality (% for each attribute) also seems to have dropped significantly. It seems again before TU11.x around1/3 of drops had one max attribute. No longer, max attributes are really rare.
I am sure I cannot be the only one impacted. And the now harder grind is wearing me down.
Anyone else see the quality drop?

It's almost like random drops are random.
I really wish people would stop attributing bad luck to malicious actions by the devs. The game doesn't even HAVE devs any more. Maybe a couple of interns doing maintenance every week if we're lucky.
And even if one of the Star Wars or Avatar crew pops their head into the Division cubicle, they sure as hell aren't screwing with droprates just to mess with players.
You're getting rocked by the bell curve. Deal with it.
For the last month or two I've been playing my World Tier 5 character and my experience in the last week or two has been pretty much the opposite. I've picked up at least four or five god-rolled weapons, maxed out more than half a dozen attributes in my library that had seemed to have been waiting some time for a max roll, and even got a drop of a new exotic at the end of a District Union Area run I was replaying on just Challenging to just to test something else.
That said, I started playing after TU12.1, and I've never seen a time where anywhere near a third of the drops had a maxed-out attribute. I've also started playing a lot more on Heroic in the past couple of weeks.
But if there's anything I've learned, it's that one's perception of how often chance events are happening is extremely unreliable for many reasons, but especially confirmation bias. Whenever I start feeling that something is happening less or more often than it should be, I don't trust that feeling until I've actually recorded and analyzed some data.
@Sircowdog1 - wow dude lighten up. All I did was ask if others have seen what I have experienced (and I scanned 11 pages of posts). And hey - others commented differently and I got a thumbs-up - which is why I asked. I did not blame anyone - I attached a timeline for when 'I' began to notice. And my CS degree knows that nothing on a computer is truly random - which is why there are drop tables. - so why was your post so belligerent?
@CatagoryTheory - exactly, so I did start recording what I was seeing and had the feeling for. That is why I decided to see if others were experiencing what I 'measured'.
- 784 drops of main gear (does not count mods) 4/21-5/2 over 25+ hours of play. Solo, answer the call, rando teaming, dedicated duo for summit
- main missions on heroic would see at least 10 drops and as many 31 drops. I also wondered around the heroic open world as well and did summit legendary for 10 floors.
- 158 drops were rainbow - remember there is logic in the drop tables so rainbow is supposed to be 'unlikely'.
- 2 were 'god' rolled - but one of those was a rainbow - while cool, useless
- 8 had 1 or 2 max attributes.
This is my measured experience - your mileage may vary (alot).
but again, I ask simply - do you 'feel' drop quality has declined? Perception is reality.

I'm playing Heroic too and from any mission I can get 1-2 items with god rolls, sometimes even fully god rolled.Originally Posted by OldGamerGene Go to original post
The problem is - you don't need THAT rolls.
Obviously, more you fill your library - it becomes harder to get something new for it. Personally I'm still missing 1 stat for pistols. Most likely, if I will farm pistol targeted loot then I'll fill it more or less soon, but I'm lazy and see no reasons for this.
Because you're not the first person to make a claim about drops. You're not the tenth. You're not the hundredth, or the thousandth. And it's NEVER been substantiated. It's ALWAYS someone who's just irritated that the game isn't giving them what they want. And it's an understandable frustration. However....it's not the devs or the game being out to get you with intentionally lower drop rates or quality.Originally Posted by OldGamerGene Go to original post
It's called confirmation bias, combined with the human condition of being more likely to remember the bad than the good. So I don't care if you have a computer science degree. It doesn't apply here. Even your own post is still seeking to confirm your bias by telling the first person to give you hard truth to "lighten up" while simultaneously admitting that "perception is reality".
And trust me, you'll know when I get belligerent. All I'm doing so far is giving you facts that you don't like the flavor of.
This explains it: CategoryTheory got your drops!Originally Posted by CategoryTheory Go to original post
Of course not. Hence the devs admitted they adjusted the loot at heroic and legendary and had a whole presentation with a new curve they did right around the m1a nerf patch. Also rainbow loot was a figment of our imagination, hence the devs had to make significant adjustments to the algorithm to improve the drop rate for non rainbow rolls. We just imagined all thatOriginally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
There is a WORLD of difference between adjusting the drop rates UP, and changing the nature of the loot rules at a fundamental level(certain items intentionally dropping with bias towards specific attributes) in order to improve overall quality of life from a baseline AFTER significant testing and feeback......and claiming that loot rates have gone down without patch notes in some sort of stealth nerf.Originally Posted by qpMaverickqp Go to original post
Or does this point need further clarification?
