I would like the specifics on how grouping works. I am level 30 and a friend was level 4 and I joined him. I noticed my stats remained the same and his were also the same except for his health, which was no close to mine. His armor and weapon damage was still the same, so...
1) At what level would the enemy be? If they are my level, how is his weapon going to do anything and how does he survive without armor? If they are his level, I would be trouncing them. I don't get how this is scaling for both of us.
2) I noticed that when we each look at a Settlement panel, it is different for both of us. I still see it as I would in solo and he still sees it as his. How does this work?
3) I could not see his missions and was trying to teach him, but it was difficult figuring out what he should do since I could not see the game as he was and he said there was no option in mission progression to track the missions so they would show up on the screen.
4) When opening loot boxes or drops, do all group players get it when one opens it or does each have to open it, is it a matter of distance between the players when something is looted, does everyone get the same item? It seemed like when one of us looted a backpack, we each got different random items if we were close.
I know you can "Share" items with other members by dropping them within a time limit, but it would be nice if they scaled to the lower player's level so they could actually use the items. Giving a level 30 weapon to a level 4 player doesn't help them much.
Enemy for him will be at his level, since he was bellow 30 in that case they wil lbe scalled for world tier 1 for you.
Missions are individual unless both players are in the same world tier so you won't be able to see his missions.
Loot is individual and scaled to the player, but once agian since he's below 30 it will capped at world tier 1 so if you were at world tier 5 then the loot is complete trash to you while it would be too strong for him to use
Wait... So if we're shooting the same enemy, they are scaled to both of our levels simultaneously? How is this possible?Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post
So it's normal for only his health to increase and nothing else?
The world scales to the highest level player. The lower level players get a boost to their everything, gain EXP to level and earn less of a boots to compensate the newer level. It's the same for BL3 co-op system.Originally Posted by TE5LA Go to original post
But this isn't what is happening in our group. The only stat that increases on him is health, still lower than mine. His armor is still like 2k and his gun damage is around 250.Originally Posted by SuicideHero793 Go to original post
I've not looked into this for a while, but I my impression was that the game world is run at the level of the highest player, but while the damage a lower-level player sees against enemies is at the world level, all stats in the inventory and other menus are still at the player's level.
Spending a few minutes in the firing range, with damage figures turned on in the chat window if necessary, may help clarify what's going on.
I was under the impression that the game was run to the highest level player and all the other players receive a boost to their skills etc to compensate. I've not really had much experience of this, but when I joined a friend once he bought WONY, he said that he tended to receive a lot more damage from enemies when I was in the party with him. Once he hit Level 40, it didn't seem to have too much impact but I would assume that is because we're in the same 'World Tier' (appreciate that WT don't exist past Level 40)
So, you're saying that the player is leveled up but the stats don't reflect this? His gun is not really doing only 250 damage to level 30 enemy? He really has more than 2000 armor, but the stats just aren't showing it?Originally Posted by BT3241 Go to original post
