Playing on PS4, and since the beginning of this season (which ironically coincides somewhere thereabouts with a CRONUS ZEN mod update for Siege)...I believe with utmost certainty that people are wallhacking...or perhaps that "auto-ping" mod is helping them in some form or fashion (though I don't know much about it...other than that scum use it).
And before you argue semantics with a professional Software Engineer with 23 years experience about what constitutes a "hack"...well...just don't.
I'm seeing lots of cases where there will be 1 or 2 players who just "know" where people are..at all times...be it attack or defense. Yes, I know there are cams, teammates, etc. that can help...but these people are doing so consistently throughout the entire match, ending up going 15-1, etc.
There are places where you could come from multiple angles, but they are perfectly holding angles where you will be coming from, no moving, no checking flanks...nothing. For instance, a teammate could be calling out that we're outside a doorway to the west...but you could be coming from left or right...and they know perfectly which side and are ready to fire. Once or twice...could be solid play and good callouts/cams...but the whole game...going 15-1? Naw...the mods have gone beyond recoil control and lean spam...this is whole other level.
Sadly, that is the state of Siege these days. For all the bragging on their blogs about how fighting cheats is 'really really important to us', the development team has done little to nothing to address this. And lately, they seem to have given up, and abandoned Siege to the cheaters. Previous posts gave clues as to why. They've dropped hints about the game being 'late into its life cycle', and how the company is 'moving on to newer projects', and how they 'no longer have the ability to allocate funding and resources' to further refinements. Bottom line is - they just don't care anymore. All the 'new' stuff - the cosmetics, the reworked maps, the operators. Their development has been farmed out to other teams and then jammed clumsily into the game.
They'll police the televised/streamed matches, so as to present the illusion of cheat enforcement to the 'pro league'. But public players? They get nothing but orders to 'put up or shut up' about it. The fact is, the entire engine was a poor choice for Siege from the game's conception stages. It may have been a fine engine for the single player games it was originally created for. But it was not programmed and coded from its beginnings to stop multiplayer cheating. As such, no matter what they do, they can't fix it. It just can't handle the onslaught of hackers. And farming out cheat enforcement to dis-interested 3rd party companies like BattleFail has only made things worse.
Siege is a lost cause for public game play. Your only hope is to set up private matches with trusted friends - people who you KNOW won't cheat. All we can do now is hope that NEXT time, UBI will start from scratch, and build an entire NEW game engine from the ground up. With the core foundation, programming and labor completely devoted to making it 100% cheat-proof.
And you think your $249.99 console is impervious when major government and financial institutions aren't...why? It works like this: the XIM and CRONUS are connected to keyboards containing scripts...but they are telling the console that they are a "controller"..which the console considers a trusted device. As a trusted device, it can run code. While maybe not directing altering game files on the console, it can still pass property values which in turn activate code. And frankly, XIM/CRONUS/StrikePack are running mods that alter intended game behavior...which in turn is hack, as these actions are not inherent game behavior as designed by Ubisoft....so they're hacks.Originally Posted by vgrimr_J Go to original post
The ZEN is a huge problem.
There is the guy I have played on Siege with before but am not right now. He got a ZEN. HE was Platinum but the people he partied with, higher ranked, said if you are not using it you are at a massive disadvantage. He has videos of high ranked players using them. And you can tell 100%. Acts just like his ZEN. Such a mess. He was groups up with high ranked, a couple in the top whatever it said, and they admitted to using a ZEN. I heard the audio. He tried to convince me to get one but said it was way on back order. Should tell Ubi and other companies something.
For sure last night I had a teammate using one. The thing can put you spot on and reduce recoil and ****. Player was totally dominant. I had them in my random queue before and they sucked. Mind you I am currently stuck in silver, down from Gold 1 because of people eating headshots and beaming through walls and stuff. But the player had a high rank of Silver 1 in any season checking stats. Was blowing away everyone, no recoil, spot on aim, and you could just tell they were using something. I mean, the persons best headshot percentage was 30% one season and they hit ALL headshots.
I was shown a screen capture of the ZEN order page and it was showing over 1k people with backorders. Not sure if more have been shipped or what that might be now. The thing is, on console, you are going to get recoil and need to control that. Talking specifically about console. And I watched the match with these top ranked players in his match and there was zero recoil and other indications of nefarious use. He was telling me I would need one if I ever planned to be high ranked again. I played a match with one of my sons and a friend last night and hit that player on our team that was doing this and am real close to deleting this.
I will note this. The player I know personally was about 35% headshots in 12 matches without the ZEN and 1.13 k/d. In 7 matches with things going well, both playing on my account, I was at 1.33 k/d and 45% headshot even with the bullet waste I do. Yet this player is a high platinum and leads lobbies with the ZEN. Even lobbies with Diamond and those top tier players. Taking the ZEN off the player immediately drops.
Exactly...and the same people do it again and again in the same game, don't they? And sometimes I'll be coming from 1 of numerous places they could be exposed from...but they never take their eyes off of where I am, and are ready to pre-fire the second I come around the corner. And I do mean pre-fire...not see me first and then shoot.Originally Posted by Sgt Astor Go to original post
Exactly. If you're doing something outside of what Ubisoft has in the base game, using base hardware, you're cheating and have no actual skill.Originally Posted by Slyrr7 Go to original post
