ArgimonEd, I have to agree with LateNiteDelight on many points. Bigotry is not a word I really ever use because it is so objective based on ones views. But, reading through this discussion with an open mind (no axe to grind with either side), I'll say you came across much more bigoted of the two of you. I'd probably use the word pretentious instead, but the more I read the more I thought bigot was perhaps the better term.

I'm stepping off my soapbox. Just remember that in written text, one can't read inflections in voice, expressions and such that can change a words meanings drastically. It sounds like your opinions are not THAT far apart. Might a mountain have been made from a mole hole?

The Ghosts, aka D (Delta) Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), was an elite SF quick-reaction force of the US Army Special Forces (aka Green Berets), formed in 1994.

John Clark is a Navy SEAL and the original Ghosts are Army Green Berets. So, it makes no sense for him to be a Ghost before forming Rainbow.
Thanks! That actually explains it - I appreciate it.

For some reason, in my head, I just default to JSOC.. and obviously I'm less strict on video games taking artistic license to mix and match the operators under the umbrella..

But at this point, I'll just take this as a lesson learned not to join any lore discussions moving forward - even though I find it interesting. I still am curious if I missed a big Ghost Recon book by Tom Clancy, as I would be interested in reading it [or who knows, maybe I read one where they were the main feature and forgot all about it]. Anywho, god speed.
Innocent moment me or anyone else said that there was a GR book.
I even said in one of my first comments, but you seem to ignore most of what I say to make it fit your narrative.

Books, movies and games are separate universes, but both the games and the movies followed the novels more in the past.
That doesn't mean there is a GR novel, that just mean they aspired to be accurate and followed "rules, guidelines and facts that happened in the novels".
Now days, with the newer RB6 and the BP.
    They dont even try.

I wasn't the one being snarky at others at first.
You can call me dead set on calling him out, and I couldn't care less.
The fact is, I hate when people's force their view on others and then they ask their view to be respected.

You must have ManticButton on ignore ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Could I have retorted differently? Of course, and I acknowledged that. I never forced my view on anyone - literally said "to each their own" and [for me]. Then you insulted me saying I should just sod off to COD and called me a Juvenile Bigot. All I said to you was that I didn't care as much about the story [in regards to the most recent games], which somehow offended you deeply, and then you warped that into the position you continue to argue, which never existed.

I would have dropped it, but to me, calling someone a bigot is fighting words. I take great effort to police myself in that realm, even chastising myself when I have bigoted thoughts. I was a bigot in my youth, something l'm still ashamed of, but I worked very hard to become a better human being. That word is very, very specific - and shoehorning it where it doesn't belong offends my sensibilities

I was flippant in my reaction to ManticButton. I was mildly dismissive to you, and then a little haughty post-bigotry - but no one else. I did apologize, and also further clarify. Maybe you should read through the thread again.

So I watched Without remose, it's not bad, as I suspected its a fairly good action movie. A detail that I found interesting is during the last firefights, the main character gets exhausted, which contributes to add some realism and breaks the illusion that firefights are easy.

The plot is rather simplistic though, but plausible and reminded me of the fear of the iron triangle, something that I studied years ago. Interesting that somehow it made its way in.

I'm still befuddled as to why they half assed terrorist hunt in R6S. You've got the Bank, Amusement Park, etc - why not spend some extra time on a "campaign". Set the events up properly, allow you to select a squad from the Operators, then plan & execute. Double bonus if you could swap between the operators when solo, so you can personally perform the big maneuvers [and allow co-op]. For replayability, give the player the option to randomize the site/event and enemy location/patrol after they've beaten the level.

I'll never forgive them for what they did to terrorist hunt one of the best modes ever

how hard is it to slap 40 enemy's on a map and just let you go in with the operator of your choice

not to mention dropping the white masks for whatever is happening now like who are the bad guys such awful writing
