You know, those "+1" icons above every single factory, farm, etc.
Whenever they produce something, its shown on screen, and not a single time was this ever useful or helpful to me, not even when I was new to the game and still learning it, I honestly don't even know why this is in the game to begin with.
Either a building is running and its all good, or its out of stock (red icon) or no warehouse, warehouse is full, building is paused, now those kind of icons are good and useful, yet we have an option in the menu to disable those useful icons.
But sadly there is NO option to disable all this +1 spam, how can there be an option to disable the useful icons but not an option to disable this +1 spam?
Please just let us disable the +1 spam in the options... (or tell me how to mod it myself, in what file should I look and what keywords should I look for)
All this +1 is honestly annoying me a lot and I'd love nothing more than to have it gone.
This is something I cannot figure out how to mod, been trying at it for many hours from so many different angles, I even managed to disable the other icons (no warehouse, full stock, no resource, pauzed, etc), but these useful icons can be disabled from the normal options ingame as well and actually have nothing to do with the +1 icons at all, they are totally unrelated. (I only know that now, I didnt before)
Then I found some references to what I thought might be some code related to these +1 icons, it was in the .json files located under data\infotips, but they all get imported into one big file and the game only uses that big file called export.bin, its like a zip file for the game that has all the .json files imported in it. So as a test I just made the export.bin totally empty and made the game use that, I go ingame and all the tooltips in the entire game are gone, but NOT the +1 icons. So again, these +1 icons have nothing to do with tooltips at all.
I did the same test with texts_english.xml, made it totally empty to see if it would change the +1 icons, but it did not, so it has nothing to do with that either.
Then I went through all .xml files I could find with Notepad++ while searching for several keywords at the same time, keywords like:
-ItemAssetData([RefGuid]) (since that is what the game will use to show the icons of the product)
-data/ui/2kimages/main/3dicons (since that is the folder where all these icons are located)
-output (just a guess, since the products shown are output)
-production (just a guess)
I even looked through several .cfg files as well if their names could have something to do with it, but again, nothing came up.
Despite my vigorous searching by unpacking the entire game and looking through many files I thought could have some clues or references, I have come at the end of my road and I still cannot locate where these +1 actually come from or how they are used in the game and at this point I simply don't know what else to try.
If anyone knows where I can possibly look elsewhere or where these +1 icons actually come from, PLEASE let me know.
Thank you for your reply, Ubi-Thorlof. I agree that having an option to toggle this UI element woud be a good feature.
I apologise for hi-jacking this thread, but could you bring the option to increase the "Tooltip delay" to the attention of the UI team at the same time?
Anno 1404 had this option in its settings and I can not understand why it was omitted in 1800.

Every time I mouse over any element in the UI it pops up with a window telling me that, for example, roads cost zero gold and connect things to each other.
Every.single.time. After 50 hours of play i only very rarely need the detailed info on a UI element.
I am quite sensitive to things flashing on the screen and find it highly annoying, mainly because the pop-up serves no purpose for experienced players.
This seems such a basic in UI design that I do not understand how no-one has picked up on this. Even the WYSIWYG editor that I am not typing this comment in has mouse-over delay on the button at the top of the edit window!
It can't be that hard to have slider that will delay a pop-up on mouse over by 0.5 to 2 sec?
Specially considering we have UI options to switch serif to non-serif and who knows what else. (?)
I have tried myself to create a mod to achieve this, but have not succeeded.
Please consider adding this option back in. (everything thing else about Anno 1800 is absolutely incredible! Sorry for the rant.)
Best wishes,
Ysbrand
I am very bothered by this, its the nr.1 reason I never build any farms/factories right next my big city.
But thank you for noting it down, I really hope we get to see an option to disable those +1 icons, would make the game so much more enjoyable for me and quite a few people on the "Anno Mod-Corner International" discord also wish they had this option.
