Creating a charachter to store exotics

When I went from level 30 to WoNY lvl 40, eventually I run out of inventory & stash space to store exotics. At the time I did not know I could create a separate character to store exotics. I deleted weapons & gear & some were deleted by the game with no credit for materials. That is history & at present I have Three characters at level 40 & with my only Three talents.

What I want know is a detailed but simple & short method of creating a 4th player mostly to store exotics & get credit for materials. First time around I got nothing. Now even with reduced optimization its still ridiculous. JMO & I am not here to debate that. I am here to lighten my load.

Do I have to qualify a fourth talent first or is there a way around that? At present I have Demolition, Sharpshooter & Technician. All three use my screen name & login. Does the fourth need to be a separate login? If so how will I move exotics around? I heard 20 is the exotic limit & I am looking for the best way around this.

I forgot about another issue of exotics dropping. Another reason for a 4th to separate inventory.

You can have up to 4 characters per account. If you "boost" to WONY, they will have an inventory limit of 100 from the jump, just need to complete the first "mission" in NY. Then they can stay in Haven to hold your goodies. Just need enough free space in your Stash to handle the pass when you need to grab something. This allows you total storage of up to 700 items.

I'm not sure what you mean by Talents. Specialization has zero impact on inventory, and is individual to each character [you have to unlock points individually on each character, these are not shared for reasons unknown].

OK I boost to WoNY then do the first mission & stay at Haven. Make sure I have ample stash space to move gear etc as needed. I thought every player needed to have a Specialization. If I can do one mission & keep him/her in NY for inventory purposes I am good with that. My other three players are usually in DC.

At present all of my players are under one name & email. Can the forth be as well or should it be different?

I added a later concern about exotics dropping & shared inventory. I am not clear on exotic drops & related inventory but it would be good to know those as well. Thanks

20 is the limit of exotic components you can have, that you get when you deconstruct an exotic. Why do you have so many exotics you need a character dedicated to holding them? When I get duplicates (of anything), I just keep whatever has the best stats and trash the rest. If I have 20 exotic components already, I'll reroll whatever my worst stats exotic is to open up a spot, then deconstruct the duplicate.

You have to select a specialization to get rid of the notification, but that's it.

All four characters have to be under the same account in order for you to share items.

I heard 20 is the exotic limit
That is the limit on exotic components. You can hold as many exotic items as you have inventory & stash space in addition.

I have not created the extra character yet. I have 3 players & specializations & they are all being used. To be clear can I select any Spec even if it is being used?

I thought I read earlier that 20 was the limit for exotics not components. Maybe I read that wrong but that changes my plan. I will start breaking them down as needed. I re-rolled a weapon & run out of steel before exotic components. I may not need a fourth now, re-rolls may solve my exotic inventory.

Yes, each character can select whatever specialization they want, independent of your other characters.

And for clarity, each character can *switch* specializations by visiting the BoO (White House or Haven)

Thanks I'll test it out. Last I tried swapping Specs it did not go well. Likely I did something wrong but I am not sure what. Now I leave them be except for load outs.

What I want know is a detailed but simple & short method of creating a 4th player mostly to store exotics & get credit for materials.
To share materials between your characters you need to buy the share material blueprint from Inya in DC. If you boost directly to WoNY you will not be able to get the blueprint for that character until you complete WoNY and can travel to DC again. If you do the first scripted tutorial event "Dawns Early Light" you will arrive and the White House as a level 2, talk to Manny and claim your first perk. At that point, you can boost to level 30 and buy the blueprint as while as the one to share blueprints.

You can exceed the stored exotic component cap or brands cap. If boosted directly to WoNY, and let's say you have 20 exotics to deconstruct, that character would then have the max 20 exotic components. If you then complete WoNY and travel back to DC and buy the shared material blueprint all materials should show up above the cap.

For example, I have 3 characters I play and two are sharing materials and one is not. I've been cycling the 4th character slot. When I boost directly or skip buying shared materials after boost to 30, complete WoNY, and then buy the shared materials blueprint that characters mats are shared with the 2 characters that are already sharing. I have a lot of brand set components well above the 80 cap for brands. I have tested that in fact, you can use the ones that are overcap crafting brand sets. I have tested this with exotics. Currently, I have 27/20 exotic components on my sharing characters.
