Hello,
Just thinking, Nomad is 45 years old in 2025 (according the GR wiki fandom, I know there must be a more reliable source, but I just got lazy as Ubisoft), so would "Breakpoint" be his last operation? I don't know any special force memeber over 45 who stayed in such unit.
Maybe it could be the begining of a new "saga". Maybe operation Motherland, Wonderland, whatever the fall operation is called with the return of Bowman may introduce a potential new Ghost Lead.
This is pure speculation. In "Amber skies", there was 2 NPCs that came to buy a sample of the gaz (whatever it was, I don't remember if it was chemical or biological) that we didn't stopped. One was a member of, what seemed, an apocaliptic japanese cult and the second one a far right militia member. But, in my opinion those are threats involving national intelligence, and law enforcement and counter terrosits agencies and are domestic "problems". Unless they're organizing attacks from outside the boundries of their respective countries.
For the US (which may be interesting for Ghost Recon, I don't see US special forces getting involved in a foreign allied country affairs like Japan) the operation could be organized from different countries like Mexico and, why not, Canada (the later one is really far fetched, considering that Canada is considered a defense partner, demonstrated by their direct participation into NORAD).
So personally my vision of the new "saga" shouldn't revolved around that aspect (hunting down the gaz in Canada or in Japan).
But after this long digression, I believe that this was the last OP for Nomad as our main character. I don't see either one of our current teammates becoming a Ghost leader neither.
It's one of the random thoughts I get while having my first coffee/cigarette in the morning
Hard to say where Nomad goes from here. In the Splinter Cell mission, Sam Fisher teased at recruiting Nomad. If Nomad stays fit, he can stay as a Ghost for a couple more years. He could retire, he could go mercenary, or he could get promoted and take Scott Mitchell's position. I honestly prefer we move on from Nomad, one way or another.
The Amber Sky event was confusing to me. It was Rainbow's operation, they sent in their operatives, but they gave Nomad the lead position? It only made sense to me by switching back to my Ghost teammates and handling it as R6 needing the Ghosts for the operation because they couldn't get on the island.
It was confusing for me too (still is actually and the all new R6 is too).Originally Posted by Keltimus Go to original post
I wouldn't mind at all if Ghost Recon does another soft reboot of the franchise again after Breakpoint. Maybe an "Origins" type story or something with less technology involved. Maybe a Viet-Nam 1970's era and all you got is a map, flashlight, binos, compass and your m16-a1.
Personnally, I would prefer something more contemporary (since the unit isn't commissioned before 94) and I believe that's an entierely other game/franchise.Originally Posted by TONY-NOVA Go to original post
Personally, I don't mind Nomad, but this was intended to be his last mission. So his role going forward, will depend on the setting for the next game. If it takes place after Breakpoint, he could be retired, or moved into a command role. But there is also several years between Wildlands and Breakpont, where we could see Nomad as the main character, for a few more games.
Oh Thank God, I would hate to see him trap behind enemy lines being hunted and without teammates... yet again.Originally Posted by solokiller Go to original post![]()
Personally, I took to the Hunter Team characters more than what I have taken to Nomad and the other guys in Wildlands and here, the Hunter team had more soul, these guys have a Bio but that is it.
Wait, did they changes cannon and made him older? Remember checking the wiki after seeing Kozak call him old timer, and saw his age being early 30's...
But then again, ubisoft changed the dates on WL and also the fact that right when WL came out, they changed the fact that the op was after FS (Karen even ask if our team was the one responsible for protecting the president during the russian protest afterthe coup d'etat)
