I've never played Far Cry before, but I watched playthroughs online of Primal and Far Cry 5, both of which I really enjoyed.
I'm working and saving up for college so money is tight but I also have a lot of time on my hands..
New Dawn is like €22, or you can get Far Cry 5 + New Dawn for €40.
Is it worth it for someone who's never played a Far Cry?
If money is tight add them to your watchlist on Steam or other stores that support watchlists. I just bought FC5 and New Dawn at 80% discount them during a weekend sale. I can only assume that such a sale will happen again.
Presumably the sale is to promote FC6 while recognizing that many of us bought and returned previous versions because of well known bugs with "starting the game" (so e of thos bugs still exist but can now be worked around)... so a free play weekend and 80% discount might be the only way to attract people that git burned before back to the series... it sure worked for me, and I am looking forward to eventually playing Primal and FC6 and might even give FC3 another try.
On sale it's worth it. I like it better than FarCry 5. That said, FarCry has some unusually frustrating elements in it on some missions. Like the XBox/Playstation in 90's it cheats due to lack of programming AI abilities. I find the same in COD too. I have numbers of CODs I won't even continue on with due to incredibly difficult garbage missions that are way out of whack and not fun at all.
Agreed. The non-sale prices are a bit steep for somewhat old games, but with the sale prices both are very worth it.
Primal is another one that I read very good things about, and it is on sale right now but only on the Ubisoft store. I'd buy it in a second at the current 75% off but the Ubi store is very broken for travelers so I can't.
Update: I just discovered the best way to buy Ubisoft games if you are on travel when the sale happens - use yuyour credit card to buy from a ***reliable and trustworthy*** site that sells license keys. Just make sure that the license they are selling you is valid worldwide. Then go into Ubisoft Connect and apply the key. Problem solved.
